DUS is De Ultieme Show: een verrassende ontdekkingsreis langs de gelaagdheid van één enkel woord. Onder leiding van host Akwasi duiken we op vrijdag 25 september de kelder van DOKA in om kunst, wetenschap, cultuur en het alledaagse leven met elkaar te verweven.
Na De Kop en Het Gat staat in deze derde editie DE BAND centraal.
Van het opzoeken van de bloedband tot het vlijmscherp doorsnijden van een giftige relatie. Wat gebeurt er als we de maatschappelijke controle loslaten en massaal uit de band springen? Van de hechte synergie in een muziekband tot de beklemmende sleur aan de lopende band. Of we het nu hebben over de rekbaarheid van ons elastische brein onder spanning, het opzetten van een ingestudeerd media-bandje, de tulband of de logistiek van een smokkelband: wat houdt ons nou écht bij elkaar als de druk oploopt?
Verwacht een multidisciplinaire avond vol onverwachte ontmoetingen, live performances, muziek en vlijmscherpe gesprekken.

What is Live Coding?
At Live Coding events, also known as Algoraves, music and visuals are coded live. The performers are coders who adjust rhythm, pitch and visuals in real-time by changing lines of their code and writing algorithmic compositions. By sharing their screens they invite the audience to read along and explore how each musical element and visual is crafted through code.

For our collaboration with Doka, we bring together some of the greatest talents of Amsterdam. Piepotelli brings in Jaimy, one that is not to be missed this year. An absolute highlight of Horst Festival, making its deserved way to the bigger stages. Both of them share presence in the iconic Kiosk shack in Brussels as well. Young Duif invites Eja Aje, known for some of the deepest digs and uncovers of electronics straight from the bin. Djabra partners with Portente, one that goed around quite some time already, and is known for his sublime productions - one just now released on Mirage Sud Records - and his RRFM residency.

Doka Summer Studio invites Disco Exota. You may know them for the legendary parties in Rotterdam and Amsterdam they curated together with Tako Reyenga. Disco Exota is known for an unpolished, addictive blend of disco, funk, wave, new beat and acid. They invited dj’s like Daniele Baldelli, Beppe Loda, Daniel Wang, Mark Seven, Metro Area and Traxx. Disco Exota also hosted a monthly radioshow on Redlightradio for 8 years. For 2 decades they are linked to IntergalacticFM and Cybernetic Broadcasting System. Last month Disco Exota celebrated it’s 21th year of existence with an event on the beach together with Tornado Wallace and Orpheu the Wizard. After the previous very cosy, sold out cooperation with Kennedy in the Kelder in Haarlem, Funknoir & G-String invite him once again for this special Doka Summer Studio edition.
