Has anyone made a book or project documenting ad hoc signage adding to or supplanting designed signage in settings like hospitals and libraries?
Could it be possible to accommodate for this need / desire by design?
I think it is a complex phenomenon! Partly a real problem with the signs pictured is that they are hard to update. Part of it must be reacting to wayfinding issues. Some of it seems superfluous, maybe people just want to make a mark.
