Missed this bit of festive cheer last month: ‘Schoolboy behind the Watten Christmas penguin inspired by signwriter grandad’.

This is the oldest written record of my ancestors that I've found. At the bottom of the page is a note mentioning the marriage of Alexander Clacher and Christain Larnach (not sure of that spelling!) on June 11 1720, in #Watten, a small village in #Caithness. They're my great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandparents. Happy #StAndrewsDay y'all! 🏴 🍻 😁 #Scotland #Ancestry #History
