Whew, I really like that. I'd love to see it in Basel.

CW: My Top 5 for Vidbir (Ukraine) Song Contest Before Show
Before the show starts soon, I'm posting my top 5 favorite songs. Will be interesting to see if this changes after hearing them sing live.
Ziferblat: Bird of Pray: obsessed with this song, one of the best songs in Eurovision. I think they will be great live.
Masha: No Time to Cry
Fiïka: Kultura
Khayat: Honor
Abiie: Dim

I'm a bit obsessed with this selection for Ukraine: Bird of Pray by Ziferblat.

There are other great acts in #vidbir I'm looking forward to seeing, but this is my favorite.

Impressed to see how serious Ukraine takes #Eurovision. Great show, great songs, patriotic but for a reason.
-
Think I preferred vampire-with-a-fire-piano-era Melovin, personally.
-
Anka is easily the standout so far, although "so far" is somehow only up to song five so hopefully there's an uptick in quality soon...
-
Ukrainian jury are quite...straightforward in their critiques!

I wasn't a fan of Jamala's song at all in 2016, until seeing her perform it live in the semi at which point I was completely sold.
But that one moment, the one they always use in the replay clips. Man, even now and even totally out of context I'm not ashamed to admit it makes my heart skip a beat.

How many times will we see Ruslana perform in national final season? A lot of times, that's how many.

#Eurovision #Vidbir Why can’t we not at least have the #Kalush documentary with subtitles *PULEASEEE* 😩

What an excellent and diverse collection of songs the producers have put together for tonight's show. A strong start to National Final season 2023!
Tricky to give a top 3 but I'll go with:-
1. Kolyskova
2. Oy, tuzhu
3. I'm Not Alone (despite the off live vocal from Moisei) -
Recap time at #Vidbir. Which of the ten songs is your favourite, and which do you think will be going to #Liverpool for #Eurovision?
-
Okay maybe not 2Tone
#Vidbir #eurovison -
#vidbir #eurovision with Song 9, 2Tone and "Kvitka" take to the stage with the mood filter sent to monochrome and and the sound set to angsty slow rock. Once more, #vidbir showcasing the best of music from across Ukraine, across genres, for everyone.
-
Wow they are all so much better live than the versions we heard before. #Vidbir #Eurovision
-
We're at Song 8 #Vidbir #Eurovision with Angelina "Stronger" going for a more heartfelt number of the younger generation doing their best to ;be young' in Ukraine in this time of war.
-
So we're getting a 3/4/3 song split in the #Vidbir broadcast, with commercial breaks for the TV broadcast and special moments for the online audience of #eurovision fans around the world and extra studio interviews!
It's no Riga Beaver singing Let It Go after folding a snowflake from some sheets of paper, though. https://youtu.be/PiobH83HW1o?t=765

#Vidbir #Eurovision Song 7, Tember Blanche "Ya vdoma", and its the every popular chilled out 'he has a guitar and she has a voice" genre. It's a welcome breather from the heavier and more frantic songs,
-
Kolyskova was absolutely gorgeous. A haunting melody, and that harp (was that a bandura?) was beautiful.
-
#Vidbir #Eurovision Song 6, Krutь "Kolyskova", goes for a rather haunting sound, and feels like a story built around lost or longing (You don't always need to wait for the translation, music is art and art can be as subjective as you want.)
-
A delightful crash of noise in #Vidbir #eurovision Song 5 Fiinka "Dovbush". Is it for everyone, very much not,, but it's fantastic that once again UAPBC are brining a wide range of styles to the National Final

#Vidbir #Eurovision Song 3, Demchuk, "Alive" brings us our first #Sadboi trying to be a bit faster than a #ballad. Solid but doesn't have the sort of energy and emotion that the classic #esc ballads can find.
