  1. Neat! I'm considering deploying a #vervis instance to start mirroring some of my Github repos with a longer term goal of having all my git/code stuff on the fediverse as @forgefed gets implemented in more contexts.

  2. @forgefed Looks great! 👏🏽

I had some problems with setting up ssh (bcs I rushed w/ docs) and I had to create main branch on my repo.

Is there a way to follow my #vervis account from #mastodon :mastodon:? Would be great if I'd be notified in mastodon for any PRs, issues, ... here directly.

  3. @bzg The software arm of the #ForgedFed work is #vervis, the reference implementation:

dev.angeley.es/s/fr33domlover/… <-- a Darcs repo hosted on Vervis!

So it's self-hosted and it already does stuff (quoting the repo README from the above link):
[x] Git pull and push over SSH fully working
[x] Darcs pull and push over SSH fully working
[x] SSH server implementation really secure as far as I know
[x] TLS support, especially critical when sending passwords. For now, done
externally through Lighttpd, not Vervis itself
[x] Darcs pull over HTTP and HTTPS
[x] Git pull over HTTP and HTTPS

  4. Hello community!

Following and unfollowing is implemented in #Vervis, Push activities are generated when you `git push` or `darcs push`. I'm doing some little UI tweaks and writing the demo instructions :)

Pushing to repos as a remote collaborator is much more complicated, and is still being discussed, and will come in the next demos.

Btw the #ActivityPub forum, SocialHub, is back at a new address: socialhub.activitypub.rocks

(Our forum is still at talk.feneas.org)

    More #ForgeFed news soon :)

  5. Hello brave souls :)

#Vervis now has follow buttons, and I'm almost done implementing unfollowing. Then I'll check how difficult it is to generate Push activities for #Darcs.

I'd like to work faster, dedicate more time to #ForgeFed ! I finally applied for some funding. If I'm lucky and get NLNet funding, I can do dedicated full-time work on ForgeFed for a whole year! If you have ideas for other such organizations that have relevant funding programs, please tell me :)
