Koniec wolnej amerykanki na Amazon Fire TV. System blokuje instalację aplikacji „pirackich” (i nie tylko)

Przez lata przystawki Fire TV były ulubionym sprzętem domowych majsterkowiczów. Tanie, oparte na Androidzie i pozwalające łatwo instalować aplikacje spoza sklepu (sideloading).

Amazon postanowił jednak zakręcić ten kurek. Po cichu wprowadzono mechanizm, który nie pozwala nawet zainstalować pliku APK, jeśli ten znajduje się na czarnej liście.

„Instalacja zablokowana”

Do tej pory walka z piractwem na Fire TV polegała głównie na utrudnianiu życia – ostrzeżeniach czy blokowaniu uruchamiania niektórych aplikacji. Teraz Amazon poszedł o krok dalej. Użytkownicy próbujący zainstalować popularne aplikacje do streamingu spoza oficjalnego obiegu (często służące do oglądania nielicencjonowanych treści, ale nie tylko) widzą komunikat:

„Instalacja aplikacji zablokowana. Ta aplikacja została zablokowana, ponieważ zapewnia dostęp do nielicencjonowanych treści”.

Co ważne, Amazon wprost informuje na stronach wsparcia, że nie ma od tego odwołania. Nie ma magicznego przełącznika „ufaj temu źródłu”. Jeśli Amazon uznał aplikację za piracką, nie zainstalujesz jej na Fire TV.

VegaOS – gwóźdź do trumny sideloadingu?

To zaostrzenie kursu to prawdopodobnie tylko przygrywka do większej zmiany. Amazon powoli wdraża swój nowy system – VegaOS. W przeciwieństwie do obecnego Fire OS, nie jest on oparty na Androidzie. Oznacza to, że w niedalekiej przyszłości nowe urządzenia Fire TV w ogóle przestaną obsługiwać pliki APK.

Co to oznacza dla użytkownika w Polsce?

Fire TV Stick to wciąż świetne urządzenie do legalnego streamingu (Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+), często szybsze i wygodniejsze niż wbudowane systemy Smart TV. zwłaszcza w starszych telewizorach. Jeśli jednak trzymaliście Sticka w szufladzie jako „kombajn do wszystkiego” (np. do emulatorów czy specyficznych odtwarzaczy wideo instalowanych z pliku), warto dwa razy zastanowić się przed kolejną aktualizacją systemu.

Amazon stawia sprawę jasno: AI to nie tylko czat, to redukcja etatów i „autonomiczni agenci”. Przyszłość według AWS
