Angeline Berva is rewriting the rulebook on strength – and doing it her way. At the Static Monsters World Championships on 24 August 2025, the five-time French champion returned to defend her world title and absolutely crushed it.
She lifted 105 kg in the log lift, ten kilos more than any other competitor, then stunned the field with a colossal 301 kg axle deadlift – a world record in her category – and totaled 406 kg, winning by a massive 61 kg margin!
What’s more, in early August 2025, Angeline became Europe’s Strongest Woman (82.5 kg category) after winning the Official Strongman European Championships. 🙌
Vegan since age 17, Angeline continues to prove that a plant-based diet and elite-level performance are not just compatible, they can excel.
What an inspiration! 🌱💪

🥾 Alexander Marriott has just joined an elite group of hikers to complete the Triple Crown of Hiking – and he did it all fully vegan. 🌱
Over 12,000 km (8,000 miles) in just 14 months, Alexander hiked through some of the most remote and extreme terrains in North America. It involved hiking the 2200-mile Appalachian Trail, the 2655-mile Pacific Crest Trail, and the 3100-mile Continental Divide Trail. He faced lightning storms, avalanches, wild animals, and more – all while fuelling his body with plant-based meals.
“I did it all as a vegan and have documented the entire journey. In September, I will attend the Triple Crown award ceremony in Colorado,” Alexander told Great Vegan Athletes.
Plant-based since 2003 and fully vegan since 2014, he says, “I made the change because I’ve always felt compassion for animals… I wanted to live a life that didn’t negatively impact the world around me.”
👏 Huge respect to Alexander for showing that being vegan is no barrier to endurance, adventure, or grit.

Last month, Sahyuri Lalime (Sahy) from Belgium smashed her first World Record at the European Open Classic Powerlifting Championship in Málaga, Spain! 💪🌱
She set a new World Record in the Squat for the M1 63kg division with an incredible 182.5kg lift – nearly three times her body weight! 😲🔥
Even more impressively, Sahy broke 11 records at the competition, including the M1 European record for total across all lifts. Absolute powerhouse!
A committed vegan for around ten years (and vegetarian for 12 before that), Sahy’s decision to stop eating animals stems from deep compassion:
“[It is] based purely on not wanting to kill animals. Having experienced the trauma of losing my mother when I was kid, I became very sensitive to death and didn’t want to take part in bringing that type of pain and suffering to others.”
🌟 Congratulations Sahy on this epic performance – we can't wait to see what you conquer next!

REAL SCIENCE, Not BRO SCIENCE 💪🌱
Bradie Crandall, aka Vegan Hercules, is a powerhouse in the USA powerlifting scene, Bradie has already reached international standards at a young age—all while fuelling his success on a vegan diet.
With a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Bradie takes a scientific approach to training and nutrition:
🧪 “I take a very scientific approach to my diet and training. That’s one big advantage I feel that I have over most powerlifters who tend to heavily rely on bro science.”
🔥 “People rarely give me a hard time about being vegan because I’m typically stronger than them. My best advice for a new vegan lifter? Get stronger than the critics and let your results speak for themselves.”
⚙️ “I view the human body as a mechanical object. This lens allows me to use my technical training as an engineer to take a calculated approach to optimizing athletic performance.”
Bradie is proving that plant-powered athletes can dominate in strength sports. Keep an eye on this rising star! 🌱🏋️♂️👉Learn more: https://greatveganathletes.com/bradie-crandall-vegan-powerlifter/

Kristen Santos-Griswold is a world class champion. ⛸️🌱
At the ISU World Short Track Speed Skating Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands earlier this year, Kristen won Gold in the 1000m, took Silver in the 1500m and Bronze in the 500m.
Alongside her US teammates, Kristen won Silver in the Women’s 3000m relay and Bronze in the mixed team relay.
On top of that Kristen was named the Olympic Female Athlete of the Year by the State of Sports Awards, Utah Sports Commission. They said:
“Our Olympic Female Athlete of the Year hasn’t missed a World Cup podium in 2 seasons. The four-distance national record holder collected 17 international medals in 2023—6 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze. Kristen Santos-Griswold is the first U.S. woman to win a 500m World Cup race and first U.S. skater to capture an individual Gold at ISU Short Track 4-Continents Championships.”
Kristen has been vegan since 2018 after being raised vegetarian. She has never eaten meat.
“I’ve always loved animals so much and don’t want to contribute to anything that could be harmful to them. When I switched to a fully plant-based diet, I also began feeling just overall so much better and began skating better too.” ~ Kristen
