O loga é dirigido pelos irmãos Joe e Anthony Russo, responsáveis por “Vingadores: Guerra Infinita” e “Ultimato”. Historia rozpoczyna się, gdy niemiecki lekarz i myśliciel Friedrich Ritter (Jude Law) wraz ze swoją kochanką Dore Strauch (Vanessa Kirby) postanawiają porzucić cywilizację i osiedlić się na bezludnej wyspie Floreana w archipelagu Galapagos. Wierzą, że tylko w pełnej izolacji odnajdą prawdziwą wolność i sens życia. Ich utopijna wizja szybko jednak zostaje wystawiona na próbę, gdy na wyspie zaczynają pojawiać się kolejni osadnicy: rodzina Wittmerów (Daniel Brühl i Sydney Sweeney) oraz enigmatyczna baronowa (Ana de Armas) ze swoimi dwoma kochankami.
Niedoszły raj wkrótce staje się sceną niebezpiecznej gry, w której szalone ambicje i nieokiełznane namiętności biorą górę. Próby pokojowego współistnienia zmieniają się w bezwzględną walkę o władzę, która prowadzi do zdrady, przemocy i rozlewu krwi.
Scenariusz filmu nie jest fikcją, a kroniką fascynujących i tragicznych wydarzeń, które faktycznie miały miejsce na wyspie Floreana na początku XX wieku. Ta niepokojąca historia inspirowała również autorów książek reportażowych, w tym Johna Treherne’a („Zbrodnia w raju”) oraz Abbot Kahler („Eden upadły. Prawdziwa historia zbrodni na rajskiej wyspie”). Jak udowadnia Ron Howard, nawet na najdalszym krańcu świata nie da się uciec od ludzkiej natury, a największe demony zawsze zabieramy ze sobą.
