Some days ago, I started watching "The Materialists", because I like Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans as actors.
What I don't like at all are unhappy love triangles.
Pedro Pascal plays a very rich man, Chris Evans a poor actor who waits tables.
I stopped watching the film when the female protagonist (played by Dakota Johnson) tells the rich guy at a party, "I only date rich guys".

Da ist die synchronisierte Fassung in der ARD-Mediathek nicht nur unbefriedigend, sondern konzeptuell eigentlich völlig verfehlt. Sie gibt zwar den Plot wieder, entzieht dem Werk aber all seine künstlerische Substanz. Nirgendwo ist die Abwesenheit der (englischsprachigen) Originalversion mehr zu beklagen als hier. (ARD, Neu)
