What a perfect (& loud 😱) ride we got from #Ariane5 #VA256 towards the Sun-Earth L2 point 🌞🌎🌗🛰

And what a stunning observatory #JWST has proved to be in the two years since 🔭✨

Such a privilege to be involved for more than a quarter of a century & there's so much more to come 🖖🤘

Interesting news on how the #JWST mission operations team will implement a "micrometeoroid avoidance zone".

This will help ameliorate the incremental damage to the primary mirror created by particle impacts over the potentially much longer than anticipated lifetime of the observatory, thanks in part to the outstanding performance of #Ariane5 #VA256 last Christmas Day.

The whole sky will still be observable, albeit with additional scheduling constraints.
