Hey, little baby girl who was killed while your dad was trying to protect you inside his hug, the #American "elite" students are fighting on behalf of you, baby.
Rest in Peace, sweetie! Rest in Peace, Dad!
The new generations have got this.

CW: Child abuse
It was always my hope to avoid scandal for #UofM and my estranged family. But the #umich administration refused to investigate, and the criminal statute of limitations is over.
My father has already done so much harm to so many people. Publicizing this is the only way I have to stop him from harming anyone else. -
CW: Child abuse
It's frankly absurd that, as an #umich alumni, I can speak at countless universities and events worldwide, but can't speak at my own alma mater for fear of being stalked and harassed by my own father (who has admitted to sending private investigators to stalk me for my personal information.)
Yet the university administration refused when I asked to be protected from him. How can Michigan expect to continue to be a premier research university if they are unwilling to protect potential invited speakers from faculty members who have confessed to abusing them as a child?
Most abuse survivors do not become internationally known figures with a greater platform than their abuser. Most cannot obtain testimony from an eyewitness and a direct confession from their abuser.
Yet #UofM still refuses to act for myself. What message does that send to others?

CW: Child abuse
It's been publicly reported since mid-2021 that I'm a survivor of child abuse.
What has not been publicly reported is that my father, who admits to physically abusing me as a child, is a sitting professor at #UofM, whom the #umich administration has refused to investigate.
I'd hoped to avoid publicizing this. When I first heard that my father allegedly had other victims, I pursued my own case w/ UM's OIE (now ECRT) repeatedly since June 2021. As an alumni, I'd hoped they'd take the issue seriously. Instead, they declared it not their problem.
I understand that university administrators are busy. I realize that they do not wish to adjudicate inter-family cases. But when a sitting professor is a self-confessed child beater, I think it's reasonable to ask for some oversight into him. And when the victim he admits to abusing is an international figure whom the university seeks to invite to speaking engagements, I think it's reasonable to have a no-contact order in place.

I'm slowly getting used to the fediverse, so it's time for an #introduction: I am a professor at #ucla, formerly at #umich and #mcgill. My research is focused on #communication and #politicalscience, particularly #politicalcommunication #politicalbehavior and #politicalpsych I'm especially interested in #mediaeffects, accuracy in #media coverage #negativity and the #negativitybias, and #representation.
