🌻 In May, at the end of my humanitarian volunteer trip, I used Ukrposhta (Ukrainian Postal Service) to mail home a small package — and it arrived in a special UAnimals box.

🐴🪽🐕 🐟For those who don’t know, UAnimals has been rescuing animals of all species from cruelty and war in Ukraine since 2016 — evacuating animals from combat zones, delivering food and veterinary care to shelters, and fighting for animal protection laws.

Volodymyr, a 70-year-old man, started walking from #Torske in #Donetsk to #Poltava with three cows and a dog, refusing to leave them behind as he fled the war. Carrying only a small bag after his cart broke.

A defender met him, provided food and water, and sought help from the "Zemlyachki" fund, which helps servicemen.

#UAnimals found Volodymyr near #Izyum in the #Kharkiv region and with the support of Poltava's acting mayor, they found him and his animals a home.
