L’articolo di #MeronRapoport racconta come, negli ultimi mesi, l’esercito israeliano e l’Amministrazione Civile abbiano iniziato a colpire in modo sistematico le serre agricole palestinesi nella zona di #Jayyus, vicino a #Qalqilya, e in altri villaggi fino a #Tulkarem.
Non si tratta di un’operazione legata alla sicurezza, ma di una nuova forma di pressione amministrativa: vengono consegnati ordini di sospensione dei lavori e demolizione anche a strutture che esistono da vent’anni, molte delle quali non avevano mai ricevuto contestazioni.
Un episodio emblematico riguarda la serra di Muhammad Khaled, costruita nel 2000 e mai toccata da alcuna autorità fino a oggi.

This summer, the army invaded #Tulkarem refugee camp. They demolished my home, my brother’s home, and my nephew’s home: three houses from my family alone. In 1948, during the #Nakba, my family was forced from our original home in Umm al-Fahm in the north, like hundreds of thousands of other Palestinians. We rebuilt our lives in #Tulkarem refugee camp. For more than 30 years, we made a home there. Every corner held part of our life: the smell of coffee in the morning, my children’s footsteps in the hall, my wife’s voice calling them to dinner. Des personnes originaires de Haïfa et d'autres localités ont fui ou ont été expulsées par les forces sionistes pendant et après la guerre de Palestine de 1948. Elles ont créé un camp de réfugié·es aux abords de la ville de Jénine.
Le camp est depuis devenu un bastion de militant·es. Il a été le théâtre de plusieurs incidents liés à l'occupation, notamment l'entrée de l'armée israélienne en 2002 et l'assassinat de la journaliste d'Al Jazeera, Shireen Abu Akleh en 2022. Destruction in #Jenin and #Tulkarem – a snapshot
The mayor of Jenin says 120 homes have been completely destroyed in the Jenin refugee camp, with dozens of other homes and structures partially destroyed in the ongoing Israeli military offensive that started 35 days ago.
Meanwhile, the Tulkarem and Nour Shams Camp Committee has told Al Jazeera that the Israeli army has displaced more than 20,000 residents of the camps and completely demolished more than 60 homes in them.
More than 530 homes and public facilities have been partially destroyed in the two camps.
The Israeli army has also extensively destroyed the infrastructure there, including water networks, electricity, sewage, streets, and public facilities.
The Israeli forces continue to close the Tulkarem governorate with checkpoints surrounding the city of Tulkarem and prevent entry to the two camps.
