Today – Palestinian prisonner day – I was at a joint Palestinian-Jewish #CombatantsForPeace vigil in #BeitJala.
Out of 9446 Palestinian captives, only 1357 are convicted prisoners. 3398 are awaiting trial, and 3449 are "administrative prisoners" (a concept that boils down to "we ain't tellin' why we took them").
79 are female, 350 are children.
All of them are subject to various degrees of torture, hunger, sexual attacks, and medical care denial.

Today (Friday) @neo and me have been to a #CombatantsForPeace protest at the northern entrance to #BeitJala, against the Israeli "execution of Palestinian prisoners" law.
During the event, soldiers and cops surrounded the area and declared it a "closed military zone," threatening participants with immediate arrest if they did not end the protest.
We tried to march outside "the zone", but were forced to end the demonstration, despite law and logic, because they can.

The Gaza Children Village (GCV) is a vital refuge serving over 8,500 children. It is now undertaking its most urgent and needed effort yet: the creation of what will become Gaza’s only tertiary children’s hospital — a place capable of providing lifesaving care.Tuesday, December 16, 2025

At the close of an unthinkable year, we gather to explore how we forge the collective work of repair, even amid breaking.
Join #combatantsForPeace for a special end-of-year CollectiveED conversation featuring CfP's Palestinian and Israeli Co-CEOs, alongside two grassroots activists, one from #Gaza and one from #Israel, whose lives and leadership embody the daily work of repair.

„The anti-occupation #NGO #CombatantsforPeace works to organize joint actions between young people living in the #WestBank and in Israel. The group faces the challenge of rebuilding #trust between both sides, torn apart by two years of war in Gaza.“

"From the earliest moments of the war, when both communities were overwhelmed by grief, fear, and anger, #CombatantsforPeace stood firmly in our truth: that there is no military solution to this conflict. That violence only breeds more violence. That collective punishment is not a policy, but a crime. And above all, that There is Another Way."

Join our collective act of conscience. Let's show solidarity with the people of Gaza by disrupting life as usual each Monday. This is a refusal to normalize or grow numb to brutality, and even joining just one Monday matters.
When we show up together, we amplify the call:
End the siege. End the occupation. End the genocide." -
Every Monday, people across the world are coming together in a simple, powerful act of solidarity: refusing food and refusing to look away from #Gaza.
For 85 days, #CombatantsForPeace activist Mai Shahin refused food. By her side, Israeli ally David Ginati went on hunger strike for 55 days. Together, from the heart of the West Bank at Satyam, they put their own bodies on the line in solidarity with the people of Gaza who are being forcibly starved.

Yesterday, @neo and me went to #BeitJala for a joint Palestinian / Jewish vigil for the #forcibly_involved children who keep getting killed in #gaza for reasons no one can explain (although many keep trying to invent reasons and believe in them).
It was refreshing to do this among people who know the truth and share our grief.
Thanks to #Combatantsforpeace for organizing this, and to all the people who joined us 💗More photos: https://photos.nandn.org.il/piwigo/index.php?/category/16

Iris Gur, an Israeli member from #CombatantsForPeace: "Last Friday my group, the Jordan valley activists, with 24hours shifts in protective presence, we went to a little community with children and elders for a night shift. One of the boys, 17 years old, was very afraid and asked her to look at the water tanks at night because they had just bought water: 'I am afraid: in another community settlers polluted the water tank" I know this boy for two years. I never saw him so afraid, so tired'"
-
"Another farmer, Muhamed, shared through tears at a recent seminar that every morning before he leaves for his fields, he says goodbye to his wife and children as though it might be the last time. This is because of the settlers. “Each day I fear I will not come home alive,” he told Palestinian and Israeli activists who stood with him. CfP activists Jamil and Sayel were there, and the weight of that daily fear hung heavy among everyone present." #Westbank

Today @neo and me were in a vigil of #combatantsforpeace in #BeitJala against the targeting of #gaza journalists (e.g. #AnasalSharif).
Before the action we've prepared symbolic black vests with PRESS written on them in white and crosshairs or blood stains in red.
We also had pieces of masking tape with closed zippers drawn on them.
We got good responses and vibes from everyone passing around us except for some soldiers who soldiered people a bit so that we don't forget it's an occupation. -
"It is completely unjust" Carly Rosenthal, jewish Israeli born in Australia and #CombatantsForPeace-member about her possibility to live in Israel and the fact that the right to return is denied Palestinians who are even displaced again.

This is my reality right now — and it is happening to thousands of other families in Palestine. Nour Shehada from #CombatantsForPeace

Nour Shehada from #Tulkarem refugee camp, one of the founders of #CombatantsForPeace: "We have never seen such circumstances. Words are not enough to describe our situation."
"My family is from the Palestinian village of Qaqun. In 1948, during the #Nakba, Israeli forces attacked the village. Many were killed, and the survivors — including my parents — fled with nothing. They came to Tulkarem Refugee Camp, where the UN later built rows of small houses for families like mine.

"In unthinkable times like these, hope is a radical act, and so is solidarity. Your donation today will support Palestinians and Israelis on the frontlines of co-resistance, who are not only responding to injustice but embodying the solution. They are not waiting for peace and justice to be handed down: they are modeling it into existence."

Listen to Mounir from #Tulkarem:
"My name is Mounir. I’m a husband, father of four, a taxi driver, and for over 20 years, I’ve been part of #CombatantsforPeace because I believe in #nonviolence, dignity, and a future built on shared humanity instead of hatred or domination. But today, I write to you as a refugee. Again.

"We urge you to not look away. This moment demands moral clarity and courage. We must stay engaged, even when it feels overwhelming, and we must raise our voices against policies that treat food as a weapon.
Speak out. Support humanitarian organisations. Contact your representatives. Share verified information. And join us in demanding that the blockade on food and aid be lifted now."

A Palestinian member of #CombatantsForPeace:
Today I feel overwhelmed with helplessness and pain over what’s happening in #Gaza. The #starvation, the hunger, the slow death from lack of food - it’s unbearable.
A friend of mine from Gaza, who’s never asked for anything throughout all these years, reached out today for the first time in four years. She simply said: I’m hungry.
She didn’t ask for money — just food. And I have no way to get it to her. I don’t know how to help. And that breaks me.
