  1. Floorplans for the (old) St Stephen's Club, London 1874.

Available in randomer scans from the Internet archive, these are quite good for a gaslight vampire/hellfire club game setting.

There are lodgings for Shoggoths and a scale in feet.

  2. Tangentially relevant to my post about the Gravestones going to church at the church of St Nicholas.

    techgrapple.com/online-tools/t

"Are there any interesting inscriptions in the graveyard?"

    "here have 50"

"I hate it when you have time to prep for a game of CoC"

  3. A follow up to my 1880s Tower of London headed paper, here's a 1902 postcard from the Tower/London Tourism. I've removed the text and marred the post-mark to make it usable for any time in the period.

  4. Random Prop #356 - Headed Paper from The Tower of London (circa 1881)

  5. Strangely crafted neo-pagan fetish artefact for a game. Possibly even more worryingly child-like in colour.

Black Archive book about the Daemons in the background with a picture of Bok on the cover.

Bok does not feature in the book.

  6. CW: Mild spoiler for a Hunt a Killer game. Post about RPG Props

Here are two examples of a props in a Murder Mystery game and think they are terrific examples of differences for RPGs, just on the basis on where you should spend your time in making things. Both are straight from the box, and available to the players immediately so they aren't spoilers, I just CWed because it's a boxed product and that feels like a purchase spoiler. 1/3 (maybe)

  7. I bought this post card from the 1930s of the grande hall of the Paquebot Normandie as part of my attempt to waste time and money fruitlessly on gaming ideas I'll never finish. Anyway it strangely reminds me of an art-deco version of the Devil Rides Out were they had enough time and money to make it really comfortable to wait for an unconvincing giant spider and the angel of death.

  8. There is a point when you are cutting up slide film to make view master reels for a ghost game set in the 1970s, that you realise "I don't have an RPG group" and "I may have sliced through the cardboard"

    Not that this ever happens...

  9. I got a decoupage/paperstock collection of random playing cards and most of them are designed to be left at the scene of crimes to annoy batman.

  10. Oh no.. the plot is afoot.. what game is he madly planning this time...

  11. Very Specific Me Issue #567

"The stencil of Baphomet is far larger than I expected"

  12. Key Stage Three: English

    CGP Revision

    Page 84 -

"Theatre was an important part of Shakespearean Society...

    5. The stage was often quite bare and actors relied on a few props rather than fancy scenery to help them tell the story,"

I approve of this Shakespeare bloke and shall accept his leaflets.

  13. Honestly this is why I love researching for other people's games.

  14. Mmmm my table litter cufflinks for a 1930s ocean liner background didn't come out very well...

    Back to the drawing board...

  15. @devilsjunkshop That is the doomsday clock from the ARC RPG. It's nice to see someone putting in the effort to make a prop form for the table. In this case the thermometer-barometer indicates it's an ecological disaster.

  16. CW: Large picture of blank paper

This is from an ephemera blog and originally was a letter included with a book of folk tales about Munich, dated 1910. I've just removed the text and I think it works as great insert to include with a CoC/Horror prop. I kept the large file size to make it more printable. I wonder should I start just archiving all these props on a Pixelfed or a blog...

  17. Has anyone rigged a feed for an EEG/ECG paper plotter recorder? If so how did you delay for programmed events? I was thinking of wiring up a mixing board for doing it, so I could keep track of the mood states/heart responses I was faking, but it seems a terrible faff.

  18. Isn't this just a lovely picture of a bit of abandoned London. This area is lost now, and the roads have had their names changed.

I just looked at it and thought "Quatermass and the Pit" prop.

  19. This is a (currently provenance-less) menu for lunch on the Orient Express, and I ponder that if "that campaign" was a computer game this lunch alone would probably restore 50hp or resurrect a dead companion, such is the strange relationship of food and healing in games. Still wouldn't have been any good though.

  20. This is a letter from Sir Auckland Geddes who was the British ambassador to the USA from 1920-24. I honestly just think it works as a game prop on it's own. You just expect to get find it a box of letters in Dark Harbor where his body is found floating with a copy of Dredge in his back.

I've included his signature so you can sign things and pretend to be an ambassador. Go ahead order all the Ferraro Rocher you want.

  21. It was a bit sunny this morning so I wrote a portable M.R James RPG

Best to download to look at text I fear..

  22. This is why baggage tickets are important in CoC games. Things can occur if you don't manage your inventory scrupulously.

  23. A little notelet prop at A5 for certain occult leaning games.

  24. Printdevil's endless series of strange props for CoC (or System Agnostic Terrifying Experiences... SATE?)

They make little greetings things that look like old c60 cassette tapes. Built in recording function. Button to play, 30 seconds of recording. What do you put on them to spook your players.

You're not allowed to make it self destruct after the message unless you also buy a remote igniting and a smoke cake. And only a nutter would do that for a game prop

    <_<

  25. Times you know to get out of the "quaint rural community" your characters have found themselves briefly stranded in System Agnostic Horror Game.

The GM hands you this stereograph and recites the start of the May Queen by Tennyson

"You must wake and call me early, call me early, mother dear..."

That's the point you throw a Nope Bomb on the ground and Ninja vanish.

  26. Saturday Morning Prop for Horror Games...

I saw this 1932 Egyptian Post Administration Letterhead today... and thought.. "You know a quick clone brush and that's a handy prop for a CoC game"

    And here you go.
