  6. Continuing #LuaModules: recently I rewrote templates on #translatewiki that show messages in message documentation: translatewiki.net/wiki/Module:

Compared to wikitext version, Lua module does not break lists for multiline messages (important for accessibility), and handles errors and different states better. Also, Lua is just much easier tor read than this: translatewiki.net/?diff=126922

  12. Nice #translatewiki.net meetup at #Wikimania. Some of us met for the first time despite translating together for over a decade. We also got half a dozen new translators for #Unicode #CLDR.

  22. Puh was möchte ich denn jetzt? #translatewiki.net, #weblate? Ziel wäre es, das Menschen einfach das UI und Infos übersetzen können ohne HTML und Javascript zu können. Und hinten soll halt was maschinenlesbares raus kommen. Mehr brauch ich nicht.

  26. I did it many times on Twitter, and now it's the first time I'm doing it on Mastodon:

I sometimes see a very bad @mediawiki user interface translation into Hebrew on #translatewiki, and then I check who made it, and it's myself several years ago.

  29. At the #EH20 #Wikimedia meetup we already fixed a copyright tag on a Commons PD upload and recruited a new #translatewiki.net contributor for Plattdüütsch (nds) #L10n! Now updating some 10 years old translations in #MediaWiki...

  34. @gunchleoc Fair enough. Indeed #XLIFF is the only format #translatewiki.net was ever asked about by Microsoft people. I think it was at the time of #Blockly with @ellenspertus, the only person over there I ever talked i18n with.

  39. More #i18n contributions always needed for #CLDR at #Wikimedia / #MediaWiki / #translatewiki.net. There's something for everybody: simple word-by-word translation, more complex localisation, coding, documentation.
