Either mistakes and clumsiness grow in my draft like mushrooms while I'm not looking, or there's a hole, and they pour back in like water into a boat when I'm not scooping them out. I found no other explanation for how it is possible that every time I reach the state of "almost there" in editing and proof-reading, and I open the draft again, and all the wrong words and broken phrases are partying like drunk ants on a flying squash.
