30 years later, giving "Throwing Copper" by Live a new listen.
Live wasn't a grunge band, but songs like "Selling The Drama" & "I Alone" were close enough to the Seattle sound to help them become hugely popular on both alternative and rock radio of 1994.

Some Live out here on deck: when my kids were little, in the mid 90s, they’d climb into the cab of my ‘81 Chevy Custom Deluxe pickup and my oldest, Ryan, who was eight at the time, would ask to hear “Lightning Crashes.” Who was I to say no?

Given the Substack and Penguin Random House shenanigans…and everything really, I’m glad I self-publish and roll my own a lot.
I still stick to my mantra of: Never enter anything without an exit strategy.
Fingers crossed that the platforms and distributors I do use don’t go complete asshole and don’t shutdown or sell out.

This evening’s “live” selection on deck is from the band Live and another of those tunes all three of my kids loved to hear in the truck all those years ago. This particular performance was recorded on 23 July, 1999. Seven years later on that date was the last time I ever spoke to my oldest boy when he called me from Iraq.
