I'm flying to the #UnitedStates in a few hours, for the very first time! As a bearded queer person of colour, I'm looking forward to a warm welcome from the land of the free (or is it "liberated" now after #LiberationDay?) and the home of the brave.
This toot was definitely not composed under duress or with the intention of being obsequious towards those righteous defenders of freedom at the border who might want to check my phone. Or cavities.
I'm all for freedom of expression and so are they, so why would I be anxious about visiting the "shining city upon a hill"? Sure, the hill may be on fire and threatening to burn down the world's oldest tree but what have trees done for us anyway?
