@HxxxKxxx weiß ja nicht, aber ich finde #Mastodon auf Server bei Hetzner europäisch genug?

Noch dazu, weil halt mit der gGmbH, die den Code schreibt und dem eV der meinen Server betreibt alles total tippi toppi geregelt ist.

Einzig das Marketing-Budget ist wohl zu klein, und damit scheint #WSocial wiederum kein Problem zu haben.

Despite the privacy cluster fuck W Social wants to be and the blatant EU nationalism, do we also see the use of the AT protocol. A pseudo decentralized and non-democratic protocol, co-developed by the wannabe big-tech crypto-bros US based Bluesky.

I just refreshed the #WSocial website and it's showing a MAJOR redesign... with a label at the top stating "built on the open AT-protocol."

This is the first time ever they acknowledge this – I know, as I've been visiting their website for MONTHS and also never heard about this in any interviews. So the claims in my exposé stand (the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine would confirm this).

Of note: they changed their URL from wsocial.eu to wsocial.news

I don't think I need to convince any of you that WSocial is shady as fuck, but here is a great post from Elena Rossini that explains many of the red flags and I have the feeling that she's barely scratching the surface. Share it freely with your friends and contacts that are less terminally online than us. (the thing is supposed to launch this weekend, so expect a lot of media coverage that's just repeating what their PR said without analysis or fact checking)

Unter dem Deckmantel der Souveraenitaet verkauft auch W Social zentralisierte Ideen... jetzt sogar ohne die Moeglichkeit diese anonym zu nutzen.

@pallenberg ich denke nicht das „Ausweis-Authentifizierung“ das X-Problem löst und alle Menschen in Europa wieder in „eine“ Plattform bringt - zumindest sollte es KI-Accounts verhindern?
