Fiasko jménem W SocialProjekt evropské sociální sítě W Social tento rok výrazně rezonoval mediálním prostorem. Nadšení politiků se nepřelilo do nadšení uživatelů a čísla několik měsíců po spuštění ukazují na naprosté fiasko. V blogpostu jsem se rozepsal o tom, proč tento projekt od začátku považuji za odsouzený k nezdaru.

Digitaler Wochenrückblick: 17. Mai 2026, W-social
Warum denn die ganzen Werbemillionen nach Nordamerika verfüttern, wenn wir hier damit blühende Landschaften züchten können?
Es gibt, getragen von der Abneigung gegen den unterirdischen Abschaum, der auf „X“ in die Welt quillt, Ablösebestrebungen. SPD, Linke und Grüne haben ihre Accounts deaktiviert, weil sie die Dreckschleuder von Elon Musk nicht mehr ertragen – im Gegensatz zur Regierung/Ministerien und Parteien, die sich in dem Höllensumpf aus geschmacklosen Posts und dümmlicher Propaganda pudelwohl fühlen – wegen der Reichweite, sagen sie. Die bekommen sie aber nur, wenn sie genügend Schleim absondern. Ein Wettbewerb dem gerade die AfD sehr viel abgewinnen kann.
Was aber tun, wenn einem deswegen der Kragen platzt? 1. Regel: nicht auf „X“ raushauen, was schmerzt – das erhöht nur die Aufmerksamkeit für das, was wir bekämpfen. Darum geht es: Aufmerksamkeit, damit lande ich in den Timelines. Das wiederum sorgt dafür, dass die nächsten Rüben darauf reagieren, treibt die Quoten ebenso hoch. Aber der Inhalt ist völlig wurscht, Hauptsache es lärmt irgendwie. Es geht nämlich nur darum in dem kruden Stuss wertvolle Produktinformationen unterzubringen. Sonst nix, vor allem praktisch: die Inhalte kommen durchweg von den Nutzerinnen und Nutzern, deren Strahlkraft befeuert höchst profitabel das Geschäftsmodell.
Stellen wir uns einmal – nur so rein theoretisch – vor, wir würden das gesittet tun, ohne die Fake-Accounts und Laberbots, die den Kessel zusätzlich aufglühen lassen. Noch besser, wir würden das konform mit der Datenschutzgrundverordnung einnorden, alle Administration und die Server dazu stünden unantastbar für nordamerikanische Konzerne und Geheimdienste in Europa.
Das klingt ganz so, als würden wir den Intelligenzzwang wieder einführen. Eine Plattform, die alle Staatsbediensteten lesen müssen und sämtliche Bekanntmachungen, müssen zuerst auf dieser Plattform veröffentlicht werden. Der Punkt würde mir gefallen, dann könnte die Regierung nicht auf „X“ zugreifen, sondern müsste zuallererst auf der neuen Plattform tätig werden, um die Untertanen zu informieren. So aber verdient erst „X“ daran, warum? Zum Glück wurde der Intelligenzzwang und das Anzeigenmonopol bereits 1850 abgeschafft. (da, hier der Link für unsere Klugscheißer, – und zur Erhellung, was Intelligenz bedeutet)
Setzen wir der Fantasie keine Grenzen: jeder Account muss verifiziert sein, zum Beispiel über ein Videoidentverfahren in dem ausschließlich festgestellt wird, diesen Menschen oder Menschin gibt es und ist außerhalb einer schützenswerten Altersgruppe. Weitere persönliche Daten werden gar nicht erst erhoben und können somit nicht missbraucht werden. Und wenn es das Mensch hinter dem Account gibt, dann ermögliche ich das Mensch auch, ein Pseudonym zu benutzen, sinnvoll in Staaten, die der Überwachung mehr Raum geben.
Das kann doch ohne staatliche Kontrolle nicht funktionieren! Doch! Geht!
Rein privat finanziert von Investoren sowie europäischen Unternehmen und – sobald möglich: Werbung. Im Beirat sitzen hochrangige europäische Minister und auch unsere Datenschutzbeauftragte Dr. Louisa Specht-Riemenschneider bringt sich ein. Dahinter steckt das schwedische Klimaschutznetzwerk „We Don’t Have Time“ Geschäftsführerin ist Anna Zeiter, ehemalige Chief Privacy Officer bei eBay – die sollte wissen, wie das rollt.
Was denn nun, träume ich das, oder gibt es das? Noch nicht so ganz, der Kuchen ist gebacken, die Zutaten werden gerade geliefert, aber ein Signal kann jede und jeder setzen, die öffentliche Beta-Phase ist voll im Gang, das Projekt heißt „W-Social“ und über 180 Länder in der Welt haben bereits Interesse bekundet. Noch in diesem Jahr geht es an den Start, wer will, kann sich bereits auf eine Warteliste setzen lassen, die öffentliche Beta beginnt am 17. Juni 2026 Punkt 16:00 Uhr.
„W instead of X“ textet Anna Zeiter auf der ersten Seite von „W-Social“ und das ist genau die Stelle, die wir ansteuern, um uns auf die Warteliste setzen zu lassen.
Was jetzt? Weiter jammern und auf „X“ mit der AfD rumprollen? Oder doch endlich mal anfassen? Kostet nix, nur die Idioten sind weg und Einnahmen werden hier versteuert.

Its name is #WSocial and it's a fork of #Bluesky. Its founders have ties with European politicians - but there is no official involvement by the EU.
