It would be a shame iF, due to the ToS at Apple & Google's app stores', that it gets it's apps delisted over this. ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

Who needs an app to access a web site anyways. ๐Ÿ˜†

    That's what #TheEverythingApp is, a web browser! ๐Ÿ˜†

  2. @thepacketrat

    *Shocked-Face*

    Even ic3.gov recommends #adblockers due to #malvertising .

    That's a bit hard when the ' apps ' don't allow that unless you visit it with #TheEverythingApp called a #WebBrowser ๐Ÿ˜†

Edit: aw crap someone already mentioned it. ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  3. @it_is_soup_time

Both are web sites accessible using #TheEverythingApp a #webbrowser .

Ignoring the pop ups or even better blocking the element that pops up is an option also. You can also just refresh the web site and move on when a popup comes up, like on Twitter or other ' just web sites ' that try to force ' app based front ends ' on you the end user. Don't fall for the AppTrap since they do not have your interests in mind. Especially if you are just browsing and commenting, right?

  4. @hobbsc

Use #TheEverythingApp called a #WebBrowser where you have the ability to use Desktop View and Mobile View for a single column experience. You get all the plugins for security which is a much better experience than any app or ' in app web browser without these features ', ๐Ÿ’ฏ, imo.

There are other good clients also in apps but I have been seeing a few users mentioning that they have been crashing on them mid post, which can happen on the web also, but the web version does have a save feature so you may or may not have lost a post in the process. It could be malware based also as I have seen malware that does crash apps and wipe post data on Social Media also.

  5. @tante

Luckily with the promotion of #TheEverythingApp, I.E. - the #WebBrowser, you can add it back _without_ using code from ' why PayPal fired Elon over X ' type feels, if you _must_ & avoid the insecure VOIP call spamming you at the same time. ๐Ÿ’ฏโœ”๏ธ

  6. You know #TheEverythingApp is just a #WC3 #WebBrowser that's been around for decades & decades & decades, right? ๐Ÿ“ฐ๐Ÿ—ž๏ธ๐Ÿ‘€

  7. You know the best thing about MARCOM is you CAN GO HYPERCARD BROWSER AND SERVER #OpenSourceStandards with the right marketing department ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ”ฅ #AppleHistory #SGIHistory #MicrosoftHistory #STBL #W3C #TheEverythingApp #WebBrowser #OpenStandards

    Very great points Mark! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

As part of Meta's play to bring in ' all this free fediverse content ' to your point it's just free content, post filters, that they can put ADVERTISING in front of! I.T.'s this FREE content that on their side for the users, they can say ' here's an AD!' viewed. ๐Ÿ’ธ Yay! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

On the #fediverse side though this is an opportunity for those on fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ threads ๐Ÿงต users' to realize, hey, you don't HAVE to see ADs! ๐Ÿ’ฏ

You can have LESS client side app permissions, yes, JUST to view content! โ˜‘๏ธ

You can have a ๐Ÿ’ฏ native #activitypub engagement while Mark ' figures out how to process fediverse data in 5-15mins per post land ' so... Hey, you like delay on Meta interacting with the fediverse? Maybe try a instance and see what the whole ' native protocol that Mark is still figuring out ' looks like. โ˜‘๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฏ

For example, try elk.infosec.exchange if you are a Twitter fan interface UI/UX wise but are not interested in anymore because, whatever, right? Go for it! You can have an infosec.exchange account and TRY ELK ALSO? Right? It's just a different view using a different interface but the same backend.

Maybe you want to try one of the great apps to the client side of the fediverse? Go for it! Quote post? Yeah! Use #TheEverythingApp, a #W3C web browser, yes, thank you, maybe I will do that ALSO!

Many ways to do the same thing, right? Experiment and find what's right for you, a casual user or a power user, who posts constantly! Whatever, right? Enjoy! Zero Ads! โ˜‘๏ธ

  9. @bcrypt

The solution to this madness is instead of ' using the X app, ๐Ÿคข๐Ÿคฎ ' , just use #TheEverythingApp , a #WebBrowser and watch that ' open a new tab ' instead, with the sane defaults / plugin settings set the way YOU want and NOT the default ' let everything runAsAService offering ' ๐Ÿ’ฏ ยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

    #infosec has solutions ๐Ÿ’ฏ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿ˜ธ

How hard was it to resurrection an iFrame, ffs! /$ Obviously they just use CSS and JavaScript now so... โ˜•๐Ÿคฃ

  12. @arstechnica

But #TheEverythingApp is called a #WebBrowser & has 30+yrs on ' his app' maturity wise and is on every operating system, globally, already. ๐Ÿคญ

  13. @DavidBHimself @fediversenews @tchambers @spreadmastodon

I'll leave these memes here for, reasons...

My advice is keep a mastodon account and test with your Threads account how that works out. Good luck with that *checks notes* permissions wise vs. #TheEverythingApp web browser vs. Mastodon apps.

  14. @Nonya_Bidniss @themarkup

This varies by operating system what data is collected. I also practice that same minimization apps wise because once you have #TheEverythingApp, aka a Web Browser, what more did you need that wasn't already included, right?

I _am_ equating that your phone _does_ collect info about you in the car though. I also don't like connected cars but that's just due to the insecurities in a TON of connected cars, as I have seen a ton of demos about this and how insecure they are, as reported in the news, but so does the phone exploits which also give me pause.

The data brokers now are being discussed which is the main point of sale, in either phone or car or both, for data privacy reasons, for sure. Minimization of data goes so far and doing so is a good practice and is highly encouraged, absolutely. ๐Ÿ’ฏ

  15. @nuintari

So do both perhaps using #TheEverythingApp , a web browser with separate accounts. ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ’ป
