Michaelangelo's David (June 2024). As with some other famous places and things I've seen, I expected #TheDavid to be overrated. Who hasn't seen pictures of it? But seeing it in person was probably the high point of last year's trip for me. It was astonishing. It looked alive. Like if you looked away for a second, it would move.
