Virtual Dimension: Videorückblick auf die Gamescom 2026
Auch 2026 haben Virtual Dimension wieder die Gamescom besucht und berichten im vorliegenden Video über die Atmosphäre und Neuigkeiten. So hatten sie auch die Möglichkeit, sich den THEA1200 genau anzuschauen und mit dem Entwickler zu sprechen. Außerdem waren sie am Commodore-Stand und konnten das neue Telefon in die Hand nehmen.

Gamescom: Neues zu THEA1200
Auch Retro Games Ltd. ist auf der Gamescom vertreten, um dort die angekündigte Emulator-Hardware THEA1200 zu präsentieren. Einige Fotos hat das Unternehmen auf Facebook veröffentlicht, außerdem gibt es einen neuen Trailer zu dem Produkt, der u.a. die vorhandenen Anschlüsse zeigt und einige der 25 vorinstallierten Titel wie Defender of the Crown, Turrican 2, Die Siedler, Slam Tilt und Personal Paint präsentiert.

THEA1200: Launch postponed to December 4
Retro Games Ltd has announced that the THEA1200 has been delayed. CTO Chris Smith cites global chip shortages and increased production costs as the reasons. The hardware itself is complete, but the operating system is not yet up to the standard the company envisages for the device. The new launch date is scheduled for Friday, 4 December 2026.

Emulator hardware: Pre-orders for the THEA1200 opened
In mid-October, RetroGames Ltd. announced the market launch of the THEA1200 and its availability from 16 June 2026. Now, the manufacturer's website has activated the option to pre-order the device for €189.99. -
Is #TheA1200 worth picking up for a guy who a) never had an #Amiga, b) would love to potentially tinker with development, or just exploring the vast library of stuff (beyond the built-in). I have "TheC64" and I think it's pretty sweet, but I understand the limited corner of the retro universe this is intended to fill...
In other words, I know it comes with Workbench, but -- hardware and ports aside -- can I treat this as a "real" Amiga, like, with a persistent USB drive or whatnot?
These are questions I need to know before pulling the trigger. Otherwise I'd rather put that money towards the real thing.
