Increasing use of small, faint font text against white background on articles linked to on Mastodon.

Have tried reading. Including with Night-Reader.

Doubtless they're important and well written.

I'm not reading them.

Maybe the gentle beauty of the layout will result in many more readers participating though?

I often see text appearing linearly, showing N chars/sec.

IMHO this can easily be improved by adding small pauses after punctuation.

There's a new example effect in "TextMeshPro Alpha" 1.1.0 (https://u3d.as/1WYH) doing exactly this:
