  1. And to punctuate this a little bit, this essay by Ezra Klein is SUPER interesting. youtube.com/watch?v=livIbni7x7o #tarrifs #tradewar

  2. On a personal note, the moment that Trump was elected the first time, my spider sense started tingling (to put it mildly), and my lifetime of overlooking the long history of questionable foreign policy ended. I used to love certain places in the US... San Francisco, New York, Moab, Colorado... but now, I, like many Canadians, feel gravely disappointed that the US could have elected a man like this, AND let him get away with the deception and criminality so obvious now.

Anyway, here's a gift link for a story that seems to objectively detail how the Canada and US trade talks broke down: nytimes.com/2026/08/25/world/c #tarrifs #tradewar

  3. Canada controls most of the channels giving access to the Great Lakes, the Mango Mussolini thinks he has a problem with the strait of Hormuz?

  7. @AskPippa US businesses are being hit with the tariff. I can’t imagine with the animosity of Canadians toward the US that they would eat the tariffs. #uspol #tarrifs

  8. Sept 2026 Futures

    (Wholesale to Refineries)
    Murban Oil $103.15
    Brent $94.05
    West Texas Crude $86.67

Post Refining Wholesale (does not include port fees, pipeline costs, storage, trucking, taxes, ins, retail profit, etc)
    #2 Heating/Diesel $4.52
    Gas $3.36

Retail prices look grim for September, for us non-millionaire non- #EpsteinClass folks.

Add increased trucking costs to food and to every service or product that uses diesel (including farm equipment, semis, plow trucks, school busses...)

Remember to thank Trump for the #TrumpIranQuagmire and #tarrifs so he can golf anywhere he wants with free-to-him million dollar US Army mobile anti-aircraft batteries following him and so he can hide in a catering cart with his Natalie.

#Trumporrhea is real. And we are all suffering from it.

  9. #idiot47 #republicans #GOP #tarrifs #illegaltariffs ##TaxationWithoutRepresentation I hope every voter in the United States realizes that they, consumers, have paid illegal taxes imposed by a tyrant and will never receive a penny of those illegal taxes back. Meanwhile, Amazon and all the major corporations involved in importing received huge refunds. Remember that 250 years ago American colonists started a revolution with the rallying cry, “NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!”

The Trump administration has paid $100 billion in tariff refunds. Consumers shouldn’t expect to see much of it. nbcnews.com/business/consumer/

  10. this "political analyst" at CTV is "Ham" fisted.

"I thought maybe he was talking about the Iranians or Russians" U.S. Political Analyst Eric Ham

    🤦‍♂️

really? Trump has never in his political history said anything bad about Russia. If this guy doesn't know that basic geopolitical fact then he shouldn't be giving his opinions to anyone, much less a national broadcast audience.

If Trump is calling Canadian leaders "nasty" then our side is doing something right.

  11. The easiest bet in history. Serial fraudster and walking pumpkinhead sinks the US economy.

"Only about a third, or 34 percent, of Republicans said they feel better off since Trump took over, compared with 53 percent who said that six years ago."

  12. March of the clowns.

"A Washington Post-Ipsos poll this month found that 18 percent of Republicans — nearly a fifth — are feeling worse off financially since Trump started his second term. That’s compared to just 4 percent who said the same thing in September 2018, at the same point in Trump’s first term."

  13. “Would-be future American leaders who recognize the value of allies and think all will be forgiven when the White House has a new occupant need to appreciate the depth of the damage being done by its current resident. They can limit the harm and create the option for the United States to make a different choice in the future by speaking out now.

If they don’t, the rest of the world will be right to think that all Americans actually agree with the current bully in chief. The only winners from that outcome will be the world’s despots.”

  14. “Mr. Trump has made his view plain. His Washington doesn’t have allies. It has only satraps, enemies and equals — the latter a singular group that includes just China and on some days, perhaps, Russia.” —Chrystia Freeland— Gift link: nytimes.com/2026/07/28/opinion #Canada #USA #tarrifs

  15. It's time for another compilation of articles about the continuing frosty relationship between Canada and the US. At least the Gordie Howe bridge is finally open and the wildfire smoke has abated somehat, here at least.

  17. I get really angry when I read the news, especially with the fawning subservience that the EU shows to the orange menace.

Honestly, he wants to apply new tarrifs, tell him fine, do it...but know we'll stop sending & buying goods...don't say one thing to the people here and then go on and suck his cock later....Ooo yes Donald, of course donald...slurp slurp slurp!

  18. Donald Trump kündigt neue Zölle gegen EU an

    faz.net/aktuell/wirtschaft/don
