    The applicable regulation and how it is implemented by pool owner/operators are really vague in Queensland, but what I’ve managed to find:

    Safety Management Plan guideline: epw.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/p
    And
    Owner/Agent guideline: epw.qld.gov.au/__data/assets/p

    Tl;Dr? There’s no mention of Floatation devices and equipment. There’s a lot about fences and parental supervision.

    Evidentially, there’s a lot of parental supervision happening, leading to dead parents.

    A thought just occurred to me, I can’t remember the last time I’ve ever seen a Lifebouy ring or Lifefloat at a swimming pool.
