  1. The goal of #voting in #elections is to get the people and policies you actually want. Your #vote increases the chance you wil get what you want.

It is the opposite of #gambling.

When you #gamble, in a #predictions #market for example, you are trying to guess what *other people* want, which might be the exact opposite.

It helps if you remember that #polls were originally conducted by #campaigns to help each #campaign #manager know what strategies are working.

Unless you are running a campaign, you can ignore polling. Especially if you, yourself, don't answer #surveys/polls.

  2. I address the issue of trust in the AI-surveillance age. Trust in the workforce is all over the map. Typically, surveys try to assess employees' trust in companies. What we don't see as often is leadership's trust in employees. Of course, one doesn't need a survey for this – actions speak louder than words.

  3. "Just briefly in our #political #economy today, two new #surveys show both #voters and #business leaders are now blaming the current #National-led #Government, rather than the previous #Labour Government, for an ongoing #economic #slump that worsened again in August."

  4. Outrage as endangered species living in forest goes unnoticed by loggers chopping it down. 'Nothing to see here': Greater gliders, yellow-bellied gliders, koalas and powerful owls.

“Forestry Corporation admitted that they don’t do surveys for the nocturnal greater gliders at night! No wonder they aren’t finding any — they don’t want to find them, as it would seriously restrict their operations,” CEO Jacqui Mumford

"Endangered marsupials have been discovered inside a forest that was being chopped down by the NSW government, prompting calls for its operations to be suspended across dozens of sites across the state."

"After the Environmental Protection Agency was asked to intervene this week, NSW Forestry Corporation voluntarily asked its contractors to cease operations at the Styx River State Forest which borders the Cathedral Rock National Park, west of Coffs Harbour. It’s the second time since August the state-owned agency has been forced to down chainsaws because of the discovery of greater gliders."

  5. Forestry Corp cops $500,000 penalty for illegal logging

"This arrangement stems from an incident involving the confirmed illegal harvesting of 17 protected trees in Coopernook State Forest on the NSW mid-North Coast."

A "Penalty comes while Forestry Corp has been issued with Stop Work Orders at Tallaganda and Flat Rock State Forests because of inadequate wildlife surveys before logging commences."

  6. EPA blasts NSW Forestry’s incompetent greater glider population survey

"The NSW Forestry Corporation failed to properly search a forest for endangered greater gliders before logging their den trees, a watchdog has alleged."

"The Environment Protection Authority has released successive stop-work orders issued to the state-owned corporation over its conduct in the Tallaganda State Forest, east of Canberra. They were enforced after a dead glider was found in the forest in late August, about 50 metres from where trees were being felled."
