New MagicMirror is ready :yaycat:
Wallpaper slideshow of my favourites, calendar connected to my local Nextcloud and pulling bin days from my Council's website (thank you iCAL). Someone's third-party world clock module, local weather, and some RSS news feeds.
Surface Go 2 saved from bin at work, last generation's e-waste is my generation's kiosk.
Now just to hope my USB cable will be able to charge it, else I'll be cutting down cores and seeing if I can under-clock the CPU somehow to bring the wattage under 10W. Currently MS list it's requirements as 24W minimum so we're not too far off.
Worst-case scenario, new plug sockets.

Something highly unusual has happened to me in the last few days.
I have bought some Microsoft branded hardware, and I am actually delighted about it.
As a die-hard Unix and Linux user for some forty years, that's something.

I managed to forget my #SurfaceGo2's password by not using it in a while. Now I wonder: Is there an Arch-based distro with SecureBoot support, or another secure-boot distro that has something comfortable like arch-chroot? #ask

Quick update on #SurfaceGo2 battery life with #kdeneon User Edition (stock 5.13.* kernel):
It had 71% battery today at 10:15,
- standby -
68% at 12:38
- light webbrowsing -
60% at 13:15
- standby -
56% at 19:15.No idea how Windows 10/11 compare, but this is fine in my book!
