Twitter now allows users to edit ANY image posted on the site via AI. They can remove watermarks, completely change the original image into something else, and no there is no way to opt out of this.

Glazed/nightshaded images are also effortlessly blown through by this editing tool, they do absolutely nothing to protect images.

If you are an artist who has for some reason still stubbornly stuck with twitter for all this time, this is your wakeup call to get off the site.

Some helpful tips in these trying censorship-filled times:

(Some clarification: "NSFW" or "porn" or "18+" will henceforth not just refer to actual content meant to get off to, but queer content, furry content, anything to do with the AFAB bodily health like mensturation/abortions, anything to do with sex ed in general, and content about trauma/abuse (especially if it's either autobiographical, or not glorifying it at all and instead showing how bad it is). After all, it's not just porn being targeted. And no, this isn't a "it could happen", it's ALREADY happening as we speak, this content is being stripped off the face of the internet.)

1. Buy a VPN service. No, don't use a free one, those are unreliable, unsafe, and vanish frequently. I recommend Mullvad. NordVPN are bootlickers (works with law enforcement), and protonVPN's CEO is a delusional Trumpy. When you get a VPN, NEVER set it to anything in the UK or Australia, or else you'll be forced to do age verification.

2. If you for some reason HAVE to do age verification, look up ways to trick it. Most age verification is stupidly simple even with cameras, just print out a Generic Old White Dude to use or a fake ID. Sometimes all you need is the practical solutions, after all.

3. Learn how to use crypto. Or, at least research it. Environmental concerns aside, this might be the safest and most guaranteed way to buy anything deemed NSFW. It's not ideal, but it's something to keep in mind as payment processors have a death grip on what consenting adults do with their own money.

4. Download, download, download! In these times, bookmarking something for later just isn't an option anymore, as the content could be gone tomorrow, even if you bought it already. Get extra storage, even if it's something as simple as a flash drive (though keep in mind those aren't meant to be permanent due to the possibility of corruption).

5. Share content with others! Circulate it! Don't let it just vanish from the web or people's computers permanently! Make use of the web archive, as well!

6. Adding on to the previous point, learn how to torrent. Learn how to seed. Research P2P methods of sharing. These aren't a lost art, they still have massive communities dedicated to them, and while it may seem daunting, once you get the hang of it you'll wish you learned sooner!

7. Make some fucking noise about this shit! Don't let it slide! It may seem hopeless and like it does nothing, but bringing attention to the issue at hand WILL help! Share petitions, share initiatives, explain to people why this isn't just "a ban on messed up stuff"!

8. If you are an nsfw creator: DIVERSIFY YOUR PLATFORMS! Don't just host everything on one or two sites, do MULTIPLE. It may be a pain, but it will save you so much frustration in the long run. Also make offline backups of everything, don't just leave it to the mercy of the cloud!

9. As a creator, accept multiple forms of payments. Set up as many as you possibly can, in case something happens to one of them. Again, this will save you so much frustration.

10. If you're buying nsfw content and the payment method your using has an option for invoices? DO NOT MENTION ANYTHING NSFW! This will put both you and the creator at risk since most sites/apps with this feature also don't allow you to use it for nsfw reasons. You are not spending $200 on a porno commission, you are buying the nice user groceries or giving them a gift, no ifs-ands-or-buts. Creators, make it a condition of working on commissions that people don't mention anything nsfw in the invoices, and if they do, reject them until they cut that shit out.

11. And most importantly... Don't stop making nsfw content. Do NOT bow down and let some nebulous payment processor or some fascist government tell you what you can and can't do. Take the steps to protect yourself, yes, but please, don't give in!

I am mentally ill, physically disabled, and a trans faggot menace (he/it) to the world. I scream into the ether when I so desire and that's the majority of my posting.

When not working as a perpetually tired janitor, I play games, scribble, write, sleep, and buy commissions of my brainrots. I also am big on music, particularly any kind of EDM or rock/metal from the 90s-00s, and 70s/80s era synthy songs. Nostalgia in general is also nice, especially for cartoons and toys.

I might boost a lot of things, typically posts from the many bots on mastodon, or posts from those I follow. Things can get nsfw as a result.
