I vaguely remember having read of bicycle tire socks made out of fabric, kinda like ski climbing skins or AutoSock™, but I can't find them anymore.
While searching for it I though found (again) the suggestion to use zip ties as bicycle snow chains: https://wetterhorn.nl/index.php/2010/12/zip-tie-diy-bicycle-snow-chains/ (Only works with disk or coaster brakes! 😉)
And I've found these yellow clip-on "Bike Spikes": https://cesarvanrongen.nl/ — they're still looking for a manufacturer.

These winter tires darn near make my #radmission into a fat tire bike. Maybe should have gone with something different. They ride nice though. #wintercycling #BikeTooter #studdedtires #minnesota (gas is for snowblower. I usually just shovel but every now and then…)

Studded tires, a rack, and a new kickstand. My wife’s winter commuter is ready. Probably need fenders and lights too. But wanted to make sure I could do tires and that they made a significant difference (they do!) #wintercycling #studdedtires
