TIL that states can choose to switch to permanent standard time without Congress being involved. Arizona and Hawaii have already done that. Now if only Kentucky would make that change! #kentucky #daylightsavings #standardtimeforever

I agree with this unscientific poll about changing the time, AND keeping Standard Time permanently! It is what our bodies expect.
Now that the USA is a complete basket case can BC and Canada stop waiting for the USA to jump first and just get it over with already?
Ending the time change is the lowest of the low hanging fruit for "popular things to do".

I hate #daylightSavingsTime. It does nothing beneficial for us, nor farmers. It causes people health issues and there are huge financial costs from the change overs every year, but we just keep doing it

@alan Do you know why that is? That this bill doesn't need federal approval but the DST one did?

Another fun fact. Tomorrow, November 4, the day before the time change, the sun will rise at 8:08AM local time.
After the time change to Standard Time this weekend, the sun will not rise that late again until the day *after* the shortest day of the year, December 22. The latest it will rise will be 8:10AM, the same time between Dec 27 and Jan 4, until it starts to move earlier.
If we were to instead keep Daylight Savings Time then the sun would rise (in this location just above the 49th Parallel) after 8AM every day between October 30 and February 28 and not until after 9AM during winter solstice/Christmas time.
Gross.
