So, interesting Mastodon thing I just discovered, that sucks badly, and y'all shout be aware...
When you use inline hashtags, which I've preferred since the first time I used hashtags anywhere, some Mastodon clients will still move them to the bottom of the post, resulting in a missing word in your text.
This is particularly obnoxious because part of WHY I prefer using them inline is to reduce character count.

I grew up hearing those stories from "old" people saying that the weather is making their arthritis worse.

A few years ago I was diagnosed with arthritis myself and this year I'm experiencing the fabled phenomenon myself. Immediately when the weather turned colder my hands got sore.

Today I spent a few hours cleaning up the front yard and now I'm paying the price. Ouch. 😫

I knew the NHL trade deadline was going to completely suck ass today, as a Bruins fan, and I knew there was a good chance Marchand was going to go away, but to Florida? Within the effing division? The rumors all had him going out West somewhere. You know, to some team I could root for in place of my Bruins when they fail to make the playoffs for the first time in ages?

This SUCKS.

Add to that, Trent Frederick goes to Edmonton, which we knew about because it happened a couple of days ago, we lost Justin Brazeau to the Wild this morning which blows. At the last minute though we lost Marchand and Charlie Coyle to the Avalanche, and in another unbelievable kick in the nuts, Brandon Carlo to Toronto? The effin’ Leafs? In the division again? Are you kidding me?

I don’t even know what we’re getting back in any of these deals. We better be so heavily stocked with draft picks that we start cranking out hall of famers left and right. Oh, but then we have to look at Don Sweeney’s illustrious draft history and… well, let’s hope we got a ton of A list prospects rather than draft picks.

This sucks! A shitty hockey year gets even shittier. I wanted to root for Brad Marchand in the post season, but he’s going to play for fucking Florida and I hate the fucking Florida Panthers! I guess I could be an Avs fan, or an Oilers fan. I guess. Blah.

I've been waiting for a box to be delivered for the past 3 days here in Mexico. Today, I decided to go visit the post office where it has been, hoping that it was just a broken item or something was funky with the box. Nope. Customs decided I needed to pay 804 pesos to get it out of jail. Now I have to decide if I want to pay the power bill or get the box. I have until the 3rd of February before they return to sender.

Today is going to be a long, depressing day. I didn't really come to terms with the reality of what's happening until this morning, and it'll probably take me quite a while to do so.

The staff has been hired by ElevenLabs to work on more AI bullshit that nobody wants.

Complete with PR corpo-speak and self-reassurance that they're "doing the right thing."

Getting old sucks. Sleep slightly wrong for a couple hours and wake up with massive back spasms.

Okay, I got this working in the end, but had to shift to a more expensive model and change the users default schema.

Then it spent ages (for software) analysing tables and working out which columns to use, but only after I reworked the prompt to basically tell it what to do. Eventually it wrote and executed a query that would have taken seconds to write.

Now I’m just angry with the day

Your faithful respondent encountered a slippery sidewalk handicapped ramp (it had rained) during a morning walk. Shortly thereafter had the privilege of shelling about a month’s salary to have a few bits and bobs of hardware screwed in. Yes, I’m ‘insured.’

I’m actually feeling ‘lucky’: I’ve been fairly flush in recent times. More often than not in my life, far from it.

I just put the handbrake on in the car when we were parking and it made a weird rattle noise. It feels. 'looser' to use now, and just doesn't feel right.

We tested it (stopped in a hill and engaged it) and it seems to be holding fine... but I'm nervous about it.

The car is still covered by warranty, but I also know how adept insurance places are at shrugging out of those agreements, and I just can't deal with the idea of needing to pay for car repairs on top of everything else.

Why does it have to be so hard. 😕
