  1. One of the most #useless search functions in any software application ever written and published ever, surely must be, imho, the one in the Object Explorer of #microsoft #ssms #sqlservermanagementstudio . Yes, it displays results if found... and then won't let you do anything with that knowledge.

Looking for a view or stored procedure? Found here! But no link, no click to access, no open, no nothing. You get a path.

    And thanks, Microsoft. Do better.

  6. In this post I cover my favorite SQL Server Management Studio tips and tricks that I've picked up along the years, and on which I rely on a daily basis in my workflow.
Some of these include: generating scripts for multiple indexes, multi-line editing, using the clipboard ring (yup, SSMS has a 20-item clipboard history).

  8. Why does #Microsoft #SQLServerManagementStudio pretend to take a long time "creating a script" when requesting a view definition? The definition is stored in the information_schema. Using #sqlcmd we can request it, and it pops up instantly. What does #SSMS think its doing?

  13. #Microsoft did a good job lowering the memory consumption of #SQLServerManagementStudio / #SSMS with version 2019. Now please make it faster. Opening and closing query windows is very slow. Changing DB view statements (which I do a lot) is very involved.

  14. Yes, #Microsoft #SQLServerManagementStudio #SMSS, I really do want you to focus the cancel button on the log-in dialog whenever I get my password wrong. I just love shift-tabbing 3 times to try again.
