From today's Department of Space press conference we learn that #SpaDeX satellites performed another fly-around but much tighter (15m) this time and in closed loop. #ProximityOperations #ISRO

(Contd.) ISRO informed on X that #SpaDeX satellites undocked successfully today.

Journalist Arun Raj notes that inter-satellite power transfer has not been demonstrated yet. Another docking attempt will be made soon and they'll try to demonstrate power transfer objective as well.

Per news reports #SpaDeX sats might undock today and reattempt docking to improve precision. This time satellites will only be moved 100 meters apart.

ISRO has released a video of the successful docking of the twin SpaDeX (Space Docking Experiment) spacecraft, performed during the early hours of 16 January, 2025.

Here's the 15 January #SpaDeX pass ovee ISTRAC at 5:20 (IST). As pass-overs are shifting to early morning so this is would likely be last attempt before lighting conditions become unfavorable for docking..

(Contd.) After aborted docking attempt yesterday the #SpaDeX sats were moved as far away as ~10.6 km. Now they are closing in again and are ~2.6 km apart.

#ISRO has limited time of next few days for fourth attempt and after that the combination of right illumination conditions and ground station pass-over will change and they'll might have to wait till March for attempting further.
