As the storms reach the western Transverse Ranges this afternoon

Good morning. The fire has been updated to 2700 acres and is 50% contained per the last update. The evacuation warning for the saticoy country club area has been lifted. This is my final update unless something major occurs.

VCF PIO:The 2,700 acre #SouthFire is now approximately %50 contained. Work will continue throughout the night and over the next 3 days to ensure this fire is out. The cause is under investigation and there have been no reported injuries. One outbuilding was destroyed.

FIRIS has completed an updated mapping of the fire. The updated acreage is 2,707 acres. The perimeter can be viewed live on the Watch Duty map and in the attached image. FIRIS perimeters are preliminary and do not reflect structure protection efforts.

Per the morning briefing by VCFD, the fire is now approximately 2,944 acres with 15 percent containment. 600 firefighters assigned to the fire.

According to the Ventura County Emergency Operations Center map, evacuations have been lifted in the S. Mission Rock Road Area, Santa Paula and Somis, and evacuation orders have been downgraded to evacuation warnings in the Saticoy Country Club Area.

An Evacuation Warning remains in effect for the following area: Saticoy Country Club Area North : Santa Clara River South and West: W. Los Angeles Ave. East: La Vista Ave

AA07 overhead with VCFD CPT 4 and Coulson CPT76. VC Sherriff has announced that all evacs have been lifted apart from an evac warning for the saticoy country club area

The helitankers from the Quick Reaction Force have been released back to their respective bases for tonight, after hitting hot spots in the area above the Saticoy Country Club. No other recent updates have been obtained.
