"Due to unforeseen circumstances, the launch attempt for a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying the USSF-259 mission -- originally planned for Sept. 15, 2026 -- will instead proceed on its planned backup day: Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, between 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. PT from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4).
A minimal possibility exists that residents of Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura counties may hear a sonic boom during the launch. Depending on weather and location, this event may sound like an abrupt crack of thunder according to prediction models."
