Hot-glue something amusing to an ugly baseball cap.
Use tiny magnets to stick an LED and a resistor to a 9V battery, so you have a little glowy thing.
Sketch your pet.
Write a confessional sign for your pet.
Take a photo.
Take a photo of the confessional sign and your pet.
Assemble that birdhouse kit.
Pick up that guitar and come up with a new (to you) lick.
Build a campfire.
Turn an old-fashioned wooden clothes peg into a toy by Sharpie-ing a face onto it.
Fold a piece of paper and cut out a paper doll chain.

Just create something - whatever you have skills for, or materials for, or the desire to do, whether it's going to be #great or #terrible, whether anyone else is ever going to see it (but you should share it, if I can convince you of that).

Creativity is something you do, not something you are. And the need to #create is universal. It fulfills us, releases us. Just knowing that there is now #something in the world which was not in it before, and that the reason it exists is you *chose* to #create it, will satisfy an inner craving so deeply buried we don't think about it most of the time.

And then share it with someone. And ask them to share theirs with you, if they want to.

This text is in Turkish and prepared for Uncivilization's Fediverse Migration Campaign that aims to encourage our Instagram followers to open an account in Fediverse.

Hızlı Başlangıç Klavuzu

Bu klavuz hızlı bir şekilde hesap açmak isteyenler için hazırlandı. Detaylara girmedik; seçenekler sunmadık; basit bir şekilde yol gösterici olmasını amaçladık.

Bir Fediverse profili oluşturmak oldukça kolay. Önce bir oluşum (instance) seçiyorsunuz. Ardından da bu oluşumun internet sayfasına gidip e-posta ve şifrenizle kayıt oluyorsunuz.

Her bir oluşum kendi seçtiği bir platformu kullanıyor. Mastodon ilk ortaya çıkan ve en yaygın kullanılan platform. Bu yüzden Fediverse'e yeni gelenlere Mastodon oluşumlarından birine üye olmaları öneriliyor.

Kullanıcı Adresi (Handle)

Her hesabın eşsiz bir kullanıcı adresi (handle) oluyor.  Diğer kullanıcılar sizi bu adres sayesinde bulabiliyor. Kullanıcı adreslerinin mantığı e-posta adresleriyle aynı. Başında kullanıcı isminiz ve ardında da üye olduğunuz oluşum/sunucu adı yeralıyor. E-posta adreslerinden farkını belirtmek amacıyla da adresin en başında bir ‘@’ işareti daha kullanılıyor.

Kullanıcı adresinin profilde nasıl gösterildiğine bakmak için profilimize bir göz atabilirsiniz: @uncivilization

Kullanıcı adını bir oluşuma kayıt olurken siz seçiyorsunuz. Aynı kullanıcı adını kullanarak farklı oluşumlarda hesap açmak mümkün.

Sonda yer alan oluşum (instance) adı ise sizin gönderilerinizin tutulduğu yeri belirtiyor. Burası sizin Fediverse'deki dijital mahalleniz olarak düşünülebilir. Eğer bulunduğunuz yerden memnun kalmazsanız başka bir oluşuma taşınabilirsiniz. Taşınma durumunda sizi takip edenler otomatik olarak yeni hesabınızı takibe geçiyor, eski hesabınızdaki takipçiler ise sıfırlanıyor. (Nereden nereye taşındığınıza bağlı olarak farklı senaryolar söz konusu. İleride bu konuyla ilgili daha detaylı bilgiler paylaşacağız. Eğer üzerinde çok emek harcadığınız hesapları taşımaya karar verirseniz yeterince bilgilenmeden taşınma işlemini gerçekleştirmemenizi tavsiye ederiz.)

Nereden Başlamalı?

Fediverse'de bir hesap açmak için önce kendiniz için uygun bir oluşum (instance) seçmeniz gerekiyor. Binlerce seçenek var ve yeni girmek isteyenler seçmekte zorlanabiliyor. Her bir oluşumun kendine has özellikleri ve farklı dünya görüşünde olan adminleri var. Hepsini tek tek incelemek çok zaman istiyor. Ama unutmayın ki hesabınızı bir oluşumdan diğerine taşıyabiliyorsunuz. O yüzden en başta tereddüt etmeden ve çok da kafa yormadan bir oluşumda hesap açmanız sorun olmayacaktır. Fediverse'de zaman geçirirken kendinize daha uygun bir oluşum keşfedebilirsiniz.

Başvuru süreci oluşumdan oluşuma farklılık gösteriyor. Kimi oluşumlar tamamen açık ve başurur başvurmaz katılabiliyorsunuz. Kimisinde kendinizi tanıttığınız bir metin yollamanız ve oluşumun yöneticilerinin başvurunuzu değerlendirmesini beklemeniz gerekiyor. Bazılarına katılmak içinse o oluşumdaki bir kullanıcıdan davetiye almış olmanız gerekiyor. Bazı oluşumlar ise başvuruya tamamen kapalı. Biz burada tamamen açık olan oluşumlardaki başvuru sürecini anlattık.

Yeni Hesap oluşturma

Oluşum seçme kısmını atlayıp hemen başlamak isteyenler için ieji.de sunucusunu tavsiye ediyoruz. (Bazı alternatiflere bakmak isteyenler hazırladığımız listeyi inceleyebilir.) Buradan itibaren anlattıklarımız Mastodon oluşumlarına özel. Diğer platformlarda üye olma ve profil oluşturma farklılık gösteriyor. 

1. Tarayıcınıza ieji.de adresini yazıp oluşumun internet sitesine girin.
2. Create Account butonuna tıklayın.
3. Accept butonuna tıklayarak oluşumun uymanızı istediği kuralları kabul edin.
4. Kullanıcı adınızı, E-posta adresinizi girin. Yeni bir şifre oluşturun. Gizlilik politikasını kabul ediip Sign up butonuna tıklayın.
5. E-postanıza gelen bağlantıya tıklayarak E-posta adresinizi onaylayın.
6. E-postanızın onaylandığına dair ikinci bir mail aldıktan sonra hesabınıza girebilir ve kendinize bir profil oluşturabilirsiniz.

Profil oluşturma

Fediverse'de takipçi edinmek için iyi bir profil oluşturmak çok önemli çünkü sizi takip etmeyenlerin gönderilerinizi görememe ihtimali var (Metnin sonlarına doğru bunun nedenini anlatıyoruz). Bu yüzden bio'nuzda kendiniz ve ilgi alanlarınız hakkında mümkün olduğunca bilgiye yer vermeniz iyi olacaktır. Fediverse'de uzun bio'lar yaygın ve bu normal karşılanıyor. Instagramdaki gibi bir kısıtlama yok. Aramalar yapıldığında bio'nuzda yer alan kelimeler kullanıldığında profiliniz listeleniyor. Hashtagler kullanmanızda da fayda var.

Ayrıca dilediğiniz gibi kullanabileceğiniz ekstra alanlar var. Buraya da istediğiniz bilgileri ve bağlantıları yerleştirebilirsiniz. 

Tanıtım Gönderisi (# introduction)

Fediverse'e yeni girenlerin introduction hashtag'i kullanarak kendilerini anlattıkları bir gönderi atmaları bir gelenek haline geldi. Kendinizi tanıttığınız bu gönderiyle Fediverse'de bir hesap açtığınızı insanlara bildirmiş oluyorsunuz ve gönderinizi görenlerden bazıları size hoşgeldin diyor, ilk bir kaç takipçinizi ediniyorsunuz.

Feed Oluşturma

İlk hesap açtığınızda bomboş bir feed'iniz oluyor. Size herhangi birini takip etmeniz önerilmiyor. Önerilen gönderi yok. Reklam yok. Algoritma yok. Yaşayacağınız deneyimi tamamen sizin oluşturmanız bekleniyor. Bu yüzden bir feed oluşturmaya başlamanız gerekiyor. 

Arama kutusuna bişeyler yazıp keşif yapmaya başlayın. Arama yaptığınızda Fediverse'deki herşeyin listelenmesini beklemeyin. Çıkan sonuçlar her oluşum için farklılık gösterecektir (Metnin sonlarına doğru bunun mantığını açıklıyoruz).

Feed oluşturmak için şunları yapabilirsiniz:

• Aramaya bazı anahtar kelimeler girerek çıkan sonuçlara bakın. Sekmelerden profillere, hashtag'lere ve gönderilere ayrı ayrı bakabiliir ve takip edecek profiller bulabilirsiniz. Arama yaptığınız anahtar kelimelerin hashtag sayfalarına da bakabilirsiniz (Go to hashtag #something). Bu sayfadaki Follow hashtag butonuna tıklayın.
• Aramaya bazı anahtar kelimeler girin ve bununla ilgili profilleri listeleyin (Profiles matching something). Listede ilginizi çeken profilleri takibe alın.
• Kullanıcı adresini bildiğiniz kişilerin kullanıcı adreslerini kopyalayıp arama kutusuna yapıştırın (Go to profile @[email protected]) ve açılan profilden onu takip edin.
• İlginizi çekecek profiller aramanın bir yolu da başka Fediverse oluşumlarının sitelerine gidip feedleri taramak. Bunun için tarayıcıda yeni bir sekme açıp herhangi bi oluşumun internet sitesine girin. Live Feeds butonuna tıkladığınızda sadece bu oluşumdan atılan gönderiler listelenecektir. Buradan hoşunuza giden profiller keşfedebilir ve bunların kullanıcı adreslerini kopyaladıktan sonra kendi oluşumunuza dönüp arama kutusuna yapıştırabilirsiniz. Bu özellikle benzer profilleri birarada görmek istediğinizde kullanışlı bir yöntem. Belli ilgi alanına odaklanmış oluşumların live feed'lerine bakabilirsiniz. Arama sonuçlarında çıkma ihtimali düşük olan çok küçük oluşumlardaki profilleri de bu yolla keşfedebilirsiniz.
• Ayrıca internette kullanıcı adreslerinin listelendiği birçok rehber var (Fediverse Directory). Bunlara da bakıp ilginizi çeken profillerin kullanıcı adreslerini kopyalayıp yapıştırarak takibe alabilirsiniz.
• Bunlar dışında Trending butonuna tıklayarak o sırada yoğun ilgi gören gönderileri listeleyebilir ve takip edecek hesaplar bulabilirsiniz.

Bu şekilde bir başlangıç feed'i oluşturduktan sonra insanların boost'ladığı (repost) gönderiler ve kullandığı hashtag'ler karşınıza çıktıkça diğer içerik ve profillere ulaşmak kolaylaşıyor.

Önemli Notlar

Kimi zaman takip etmediğiniz birinin profilini ziyaret ettiğinizde timeline'ının boş ve takipçi sayısının sıfır olduğunu görürsünüz. Ama aslında bu hesap bir çok gönderi yayınlamış olabiliyor ve birçok takipçiye sahip olabiliyor. Arama kutusunu kullandığınızda da arama sonuçlarında Fediverse'ün sadece bir kısmına ait sonuçler görüyorsunuz. Bilin ki bunlar bir tasarım hatası veya 'bug'dan kaynaklanmıyor. Fediverse'ün doğasından kaynaklanıyor.

Temel mantık şöyle: Eğer bulunduğunuz oluşumda hiç kimse başka bir oluşumda bulunan birisini takip etmiyorsa o oluşumdan edinebildiğiniz bilgi kısıtlı oluyor. O oluşumdaki profillerdeki bilginin tamamına ulaşamıyorsunuz ya da o oluşumun tamamında bulunan içerikle ilgili sonuçlar alamıyorsunuz. Bulunduğunuz oluşumdan biri diğer oluşumdaki birini takip ediyorsa o oluşumdaki bilgilere erişebilir hale geliyorsunuz. Aslında bu şekilde bulunduğunuz oluşumdaki herkes birbirinin deneyimine etki etmiş oluyor ve ortaklaşan ve özelleşmiş bir ortam yaratmış oluyorsunuz.

Ama şunu bilmek de fayda var. Arama kutusunda aradığınız bir şeyi (kullanıcı adı ya da gönderi bağlantısı) eksiksiz tam olarak yazdığınız takdirde kimin kimi takip ettiğine bağlı olmaksızın aradığınız şeye (profil ya da gönderiye) ulaşabiliyorsunuz. Bu yüzden kullanıcı adlarını ve gönderi bağlantılarını kopyalayıp arama kutusuna yapıştırma yöntemi Fediverse'de sık kullanan bir şey. Buna alışmanızı tavsiye ederiz. Eğer bu şekilde de istediğiniz şeye ulaşamıyorsanız bilin ki bulunduğunuz oluşum aradığınız profilin ya da gönderinin bulunduğu oluşumu engellemiştir.

Taksonomi

Fediverse'ün kendine has bir dilinin olduğunu bilmenizde fayda var. Post'lara Toot, Repost'lara Boost deniyor. Bu tarz teknik terimler yanında yaygınlaşmış şakalardan ya da kullanılan hashtaglerden dolayı yeni yeni kelimelerin ve takma adların da türetilmiş olduğunu göreceksiniz 

Wep App

Bir çok insan internet sitelerinin ve mobil aplikasyonların birbirinden tamamen ayrı şeyler olduğunu sanıyor. Ama günümüzde artık bir çok site mobil aplikasyon olarak çalışacak şekilde tasarlanıyor ve bu siteler aplikasyon deneyimi sunacak şekilde telefonlara yüklenebiliyor. Bunlara ‘Wep App’ deniyor. Birçok Fediverse platformu da bu şekilde tasarlanıyor. Yani oluşumunuzun internet sitesini basit bir şekilde bir aplikasyona çevirebiliyorsunuz. 

Bunun için yapmanız gerekenler şöyle:

1. Telefonununzun tarayıcısını açın ve üye olduğunuz oluşumun internet sitesine girin.
2. Hesabınıza giriş yapın
3. Tarayıcınızın seçenekler kısmına girin (genelde üst üste üç nokta şeklinde (︙) bir buton oluyor).
4. Buradan internet sitesini aplikasyona çevirecek seçeneği bulun.
   1. Chrome'da Install App butonu.
   2. Firefox'da Add app to Home screen butonu.
5. İşlemi onayladıktan sonra artık telefonunuzda internet sitesinin bir ikonunun oluştuğunu göreceksiniz. Artık bu ikona tıklayarak Fediverse'e ulaşabilirsiniz.

Kullanıcı Listemiz

Fediverse'de birbirimizi kolay bulmak amacıyla bir kullanıcı adresleri listesi hazırladık. Eğer bu profil listesine eklenmek isterseniz hesabınızı açtıktan sonra bizimle iletişime geçin ve kullanıcı adresinizi yollayın. Profilinize ve introduction postunuza bakıp burdan aldığımız ufak bir bilgiyi de listemize not olarak ekleyebiliriz.

I don't know for sure but I think I just lost a #friend over being too #forgiving in the moment.

Sorry not sorry. I don't stand for what I can't #become as such.

I do what I can to #embrace all #people who #appreciate who I am. It's all I can do, and if that #means my #contribution towards #friendships isn't meant to #last then so #be it. But if it does, they're really #rare and I #cherish them because they're very easy to #lose over #something you thought you could #understand at the time.

I'll #say this.

All #echo #chambers are the #primary #reason as to why a #friendship falls apart. Because I've seen this #effect everyone to the point of no #return possible, and honestly...you can't get along with people who spend more of their #time invested into something other than what you are doing with that person together. And I don't think I'm alone in wishing that at times, such an #investment cultivates #familiarity over #routine on a continuous basis.

But you know what? I still appreciate the chance to #care for all it is #worth as such. I do my best to live #life with no #regrets to count on #growing without me there to #manage them.

It's my own #fault for putting a bit of my #soul into everything I do alongside my #heart and #mind accordingly. And as afar as I #know there's no #changing that, at least in a very easy way.

If you ever truly #need #friends by your side, you'll know whether they're people you can #count on or not, by the way they #treat your #ambitions as an #individual person.

You can still #respect someone if they do not #acknowledge that you have any. But the chances of you becoming #close, are not as great.

With that being said, you do not need to #support the same #ambition someone else does, in order to be friends. You just need to set your #ego aside so that such a person can fulfill their #desire the best way they know how to.

That's what I do, and I carry a lot of #weight because of it. All of the #memories set aside because the soul wasn't ready to let go of the ones #entrapping their #conscious #focus throughout seemingly more #important issues outside of my #control in all of the #moments they last.

Putting my best #self forward, means respecting that and not forcing the #matter at hand. It doesn't make that #feeling go away, born of lost #opportunity at the #core of #potential #reciprocity as such.

But yes #indeed I know #hope is not so easily broken by #fragile #futility alone. Which is why I continue to #forgive but not #forget all of the ways life makes a different #path #unfold into #being by the #presence of #purpose for everyone.
