  1. Holy cow, this video on the real numbers is AMAZING:

    youtube.com/watch?v=uFWJuZQLKJ

It's a finalist for @3blue1brown's mathematical exposition contest.

So many great ideas. So many new ways of looking at the rationals, at the reals, at geometry and analysis and OMG my brain is doing the happy dance.

    I haven't watched the other videos: youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnQ

Seriously, folks, this is awesome stuff and you should be deliriously happy that this great stuff is available for everyone.

  4. I'm way too late to submit it to #SoME3, but I'm doing this because I want to.

  6. I finally finished the most epic math video I've ever made, just in time for #SoME3

  7. #TIL about the #HyperLogLog algorithm and I think it's a damn brilliant way to estimate the number of unique elements of a potentially gargantuan set of items and only running in O(n) time and O(1) space. The fact that variants of the algorithm can be done in parallel makes it even more awesome!

  9. @soatok I'm trying to put together an entry for #SoME3 and am finding that you can basically explain most of TCS as a field by way of quines.

...Also that the path from "quines exist" to "consciousness is best thought of as physical and functionalist" is surprisingly short.
