  2. playing with a kind of jelly stuff animated with #softskin

  3. just finished refactoring #softskin for the latest version of #godotengine (branch master) - the integration of custom file format as improved in the engine! it is even easier then before

  4. the structure of the mesh is super important in #softskin: some of the artefacts appearing when the mesh is inflated come from the fibers connecting the 2 sides of the tube

  5. why a precise normal management is important for performances & rendering: on the left, one normal per vertex, on the right, just by setting several egdes as "sharp" in #blender3d, the flat faces looks flat :)
the two models have the same number of vertices

  6. generation & management of normals in a mesh is really not a piece of cake: depending on smooth or flat edges, you need one normal for all faces, or several - it took me a while to have the code ready for this...

  7. first partial #UML schema of the classes of #softskin addon for #godotengine - seeing this and i understand why i have difficulties to refactor the process... made with wiki.gnome.org/action/show/App

  8. native #godot capsules processed with #softskin (original - softskin uvs - softskin mapped)
normal generation is more or less correct (some crease lines appears due to the mesh structure...)
