I just talked to VGH admin on Mom's unit & they are getting the sign put up. They failed to do basic safety transfer shit. I am still pissed off. I will be very cold & firm in communication tomorrow. I'll also record everything so they can't lie their way out of accountability either.

@giflian In local hospitals, letting dementia patients do whatever they wanted ended up with multiple unreported elderly(and many non-elderly) deaths. Which I witnessed. Which I reported. Which VIHA never actually addressed (you need to start legal actions before any serious change even starts hitting admin head tables of discussion). Those so-called health care providers/fuckers should all be tossed onto the streets.

i need to go to the ER, but have no car, and uber/lyft are not reliable in this part of the country.
but even if i could get there, i can’t go alone because of the high likelihood i will be mistreated in retaliation.
the thing is, i have been attempting to organize other disabled ppl to do this for another for years but we can’t have nice things like that because of wreckers in the form of competitive individualists and those whose hopelessness motivates them to take all hope away from the rest of us

i’ve been having a great deal of difficulty accessing VA medical services that i am legally entitled to. one of my back teeth busted in half in March 2025 and has just been hanging like that ever since.
finally, last Monday, the VA Dental Clinic told me they were flagging my problem as an “emergency” though unfortunately there was “no doctor on staff” that day, but i would most definitely get a call Tuesday. I did not get a call on Tuesday.
I called again on Wednesday and was assured that “the consult was already submitted.”
when? “uhh just now.” what consult? you said someone would call me. “someone should call you soon.” i don’t believe you.
and so to prove me wrong, she got up from her desk to tell the guy to call me, but unfortunately he was away from his desk. he did call later that day to tell me he already sent the paperwork to a community dental office and that they would call me ASAP.
i did not get a call on Thursday. I did not get a call Friday morning, so i called again.
“I’m doing my best, ma’am.” I’ll be sure to have that inscribed on my tombstone. “Let me find my supervisor, she has more pull than i do.” oh, you actually work with someone at the VA who has enough pull to get me medical treatment from the VA Medical Center?
“hi this is Amber” hi Amber….. “…..” ….. “what can i do for you?” Amber, could you show me the courtesy of looking at your computer screen and knowing wtf is going on so i don’t have to go through this again? “ok i see that the community dental clinic received your consult and requested your records and they just need to complete the paperwork.” OH OK AMBER I WILL BE SURE TO HAVE THAT INSCRIBED ON MY TOMBSTONE.
“would you like to speak to the patient advocate?” oh, the patient advocate who does not sit at their desk or take phone calls or return phone calls but spends their entire workday “out among the people” so we must hunt them down in person, “he’s around here somewhere his name’s Mike?” that patient advocate? “no he has an office! he calls people! i’m gonna get him right now and have him talk to you”
and she cannot find the guy, but assures me that he’ll definitely talk to me, “he’s here somewhere” but he was not “here somewhere.” she tries to comfort me, “don’t cry ma’am, you’re just falling through the cracks that’s all.” THERE’S NOTHING BUT CRACKS AMBER, imagine saying that to me. “I understand ma’am that you are experiencing intense pain right now, we’ll fix it. it’ll be ok” but she cannot find anyone who will fix it and eventually the call is disconnected and everyone went home for the weekend.
my problem is flagged as an emergency.
they understand.
they’re doing their best.

VIHA Risk Assessment chart for protective gear is another example of BC health's ongoing failcare. I had to ask for this additional handwritten sign to be put up to protect my Mom better in Jubilee Hospital. I had told staff the VIHA signs they put up weren't clear enough & that we need everyone entering her room to be masked up. Their response was that Mom didn't meet the risk assessment for required masking. I responded with, the risk assessment chart is absolutely flawed if it's not requiring people to mask up around an extremely immune compromised liver cancer patient. You're health care workers. You should know that cancer patients need to be protected. You should not need to be told these basic proactive precautions, especially as fellow health care providers. Put your PPE/masks on.

I think the hashtags #EconomicViolence and #SocialMurder are important concepts.
And I wonder if a criminal charge of #StochasticMurder needs to be developed to address the actions of , for example, #FossilFuel company CxOs and Boards of Directors who know(or should know) that their actions will kill large numbers of people via known mechanisms. (Lots of other examples available)

I suggest we use “social murder” to describe the gun held to the working class head.
Social murder is a 19th-century concept introduced by Friedrich Engels in his 1845 book, The Condition of the Working-Class in England. It defines the premature, unnatural deaths of the working class caused by systemic neglect, exploitative living conditions, and calculated political or corporate abandonment.
#Engels argued that society and the ruling class are fully aware that their structural policies will lead to fatal consequences, yet they allow these deaths to happen for the sake of profit and economic convenience

3 years ago today, we lost my Dad. We've never recovered from that traumatic loss. Dad suffered a premature death due to unmasked people in hospital, where he was infected with covid. That set off latent TB, which he recovered from in hospital. The covid infection he never fully recovered from. It damaged his heart, which didn't have issues prior to covid infection. That led to his long covid cardiac arrest death.
This is one of the big reasons I'm vigilant about masking up & get upset at folks who stopped masking & are enabling more eugenics in our communities. I lost my Dad because of reckless unmasked people. I have one Aunt disabled from long covid & in a wheelchair. How many more lives need to sacrificed for eugenics, inhumane public health & basic lack of concern for others?
We are having quiet, family ceremonies for my Dad's memorial, today ❤️💗❤️
