@mikegalsworthy You can't re-join THE #Customs #Union without re-joining the #EuropeanUnion per se. You can, however, have A Customs Union between the #UK & the #EU. #Turkey, #Andorra & #Monaco are all #countries that have #customs #unions with the EU. None of them are in the #SingleMarket, the #eurozone, the #SchengenArea or #EFTA. Better, by far, to re-join the EU!

It seems that no-one in the #LabourParty has learned anything from the farcical #experience of the #Tory years, & are apparently convinced that #Brussels will accept #British #membership of the #SingleMarket on the basis of free movement of goods, services & capital, but not labour. The #Tories were told it was all 4 #freedoms or none of them - why should #Burnham get a different answer?
