During the later stages of World War II and until 1950, millions of Germans and German-speaking persons fled or were expelled from various Eastern and Central European areas. It was the largest transfer of any single ethnic population in European history.
The German population east of Oder-Neisse was estimated at over 11 million in early 1945. The first mass flight of Germans followed the Red Army's advance.

#PKPIC will cut stops in Kuźnia Raciborska (a small town of 4600 between Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Racibórz) for some trains. Although the official reason are safety concerns due to the short (~100 m) platforms, and a request to move stop location indicators ~20 m beyond the end of platforms was filed with PKP PLK, the company's press office noted demand is "tiny". Kuźnia sits at a voivodeship border and regional services are provided by the Opole Voivodeship. Ze specjalną dedykacją dla @jak dzielę się jeszcze ,,ciepłymi" kadrami ze ,,stopiątkowymi" siedzeniami ,,ortopedycznymi" pochodzącymi z wnętrza zabytkowego tramwaju Konstal 105N o numerze taborowym 338 wprowadzonego do eksploatacji w ówczesnym WPK 26.3.1975. Ze względu na bardzo ,,oszklone" nadwozie na Górnym Śląsku i w Zagłębiu Dąbrowskim nazywany jest ,,akwarium", zaś w Gdańsku, Poznaniu i Warszawie ,,szybkowcem". Choć zabytkowy, to cały rok w soboty, niedziele i inne dni wolne obsługuje w Katowicach linię ,,23" Tragedii Śląskich S.A. prowadzącą z zajezdni Zawodzie do pętli przy Stadionie Śląskim.
