In Upper Silesia, the metropolitan area has announced its intentions to have trains running from Katowice to the town of Bieruń (Bieruń Stary station, to be exact) every hour once the passenger infrastructure is properly restored (and work at Katowice station is complete) in 2029. This would be an extension of some of the trains currently terminating in Tychy Lodowisko. In better news, PKP PLK has determined some relatively minor work can bring the Rybnik-Chałupki line from 60 (north of Wodzisław) and 80 (south of Wodzisław) (and apparently some 30 point restrictions) to 120 km/h. Additionally, the fromer passing loop near Czyżowice (https://www.bazakolejowa.pl/index.php?dzial=stacje&id=13027&okno=start) will be rebuilt. This is expected to improve travel times by up to 4 minutes. #PKPIC will cut stops in Kuźnia Raciborska (a small town of 4600 between Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Racibórz) for some trains. Although the official reason are safety concerns due to the short (~100 m) platforms, and a request to move stop location indicators ~20 m beyond the end of platforms was filed with PKP PLK, the company's press office noted demand is "tiny". Kuźnia sits at a voivodeship border and regional services are provided by the Opole Voivodeship. On 15 June 2025 the branch line #JeleniaGóra 🇵🇱 - #Mysłakowice - #Karpacz in #Silesia will be reopened for passenger transport after 25 years of closure.
Up to 14 train pairs per day will run in the #summer period from 15 June to 30 August. Four weekend train pairs will be operated with a historic train composition (labelled as 'retro' trains).

W Londynie ktoś morduje znaną śląską przedsiębiorczynię, albo, jak to niektórzy mówią, bizneswoman. Policjanci szybko dochodzą do wniosku, że ktoś morduje Ślązaków, którzy nie żyją zgodnie z tradycyjnymi śląskimi zwyczajami. Komisarz Hanusik i jego współpracownicy muszą zadać sobie pytanie: „Czy śląskie tradycje są warte tego, żeby z ich powodu mordować ludzi?”. Dodatkowo mamy nowego policjanta, który przybył aż z Dalekiego Wschodu (takiego naprawdę dalekiego, a nie z Sosnowca) i pierwszą śląską sektę, która ma swe relikwie: kotlet mielony ukradziony z planu filmowego Kazimierza Kutza*) i ogon Łyska z Pokładu Idy.

Kiedy czytałam o sekcie popłakałam się ze śmiechu, co mi się dawno nie zdarzyło.
