The European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster) is probably one of the most colorful birds in Poland, if not the most colorful. 🌈✨

Black-winged stilt (Himantopus himantopus) – a slender bird with very long red legs and striking black-and-white plumage. A rarity in Upper Silesia (southern Poland); it migrates from the south and appears mostly during passage or occasional breeding.

This unassuming duck is a Blue-winged Teal (Spatula discors) – a visitor straight from North America! It is an extremely rare sight in Poland.

For some time now, a Eurasian Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris) 🐦 has been visiting my bird feeder. Today I managed to take a few fairly successful photos of it 📷.
It’s a small, perfectly camouflaged bird whose plumage resembles tree bark.
An interesting little visitor 😊

Eurasian Curlews (Numenius arquata) at the Wielikąt Ponds (southern Poland). Stopping here during their migration, the curlews take advantage of the last places where they can rest and feed before continuing their journey. This is why the protection of wetlands and meadows is so important for them.
