Return To Castle Wolfenstein byla jedna z mála komerčních her, kterou jsem hrál v době vydání, protože měla i linuxovou verzi. Byl jsem z ní naprosto unešený. Díky programu k haptické vestě jsem objevil #RTCW Quest, neboli port zmíněné hry pro #VR. Jelikož jsem si jí na placato dost užil, rozhodně jsem to chtěl zkusit i ve VR.
Instalace je docela peklíčko, přestože je hra distribuována přes #SideQuest. Základem je stát se vývojářem Mety, na což jsou popsané postupy, ale je to hafo kroků. Osobně jsem se zasekl v povolení režimu vývojáře na samotném Questu, appka tvrdošíjně tvrdila, že headset není připojen, přestože streamovat z něj dokázala. Na vině bylo zakázané bluetooth v headsetu (ze zásady vypínám všechno co nepotřebuju), takže hledáním proč to nejde jsem zabil minimálně půl hodiny.
Následně proběhla instalace a fungovalo to 😍. Další krok byl rozjet haptickou vestu, pro ní existuje ovladač přímo ve #Meta Storu (což jsem musel zjistit až z ofiko videa). S instalací a spárováním nebyl v zásadě problém, jen je ten store zoufale pomalý.
Finální úkol byly soubory z plné hry (instalace obsahuje jenom free demo). Samozřejmě mám originální zálohu, kterou jsem dokonce našel a samozřejmě to CD nejde přečíst 🙄. Plná verze na Steanu stojí 5 €, tak jsem si asi rovnou legalizoval tu původní (už si nepamatuju, jak jsem k ní přišel).
Konec dobrý, všechno dobré. Skoro. Hra funguje krásně, nastavil jsem těžší nepřátele a více realističtější ovládání (přikrčení není na tlačítko, ale musím si reálně přidřepnout), ale dohnala mě odkládaná výměna / vyčištění joysticku v ovládači Questu. Projevuje se to tak, že postava neustále couvá a hrát to s tím fakt reálně nejde, takže mě čeká výměna toho joysticku. Koupený už ho pár měsíců mám...

In serious need of some hobbies... I can't remember what I used to do with all my spare time before having children. I definitely didn't appreciate it at the time, that's for sure.
