  3. @[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]), do you mean how to find #reminders where you’ve set a date but no time? Or how to ask •a user• for a date but not a time?

The screenshot shows both in a #shortcut: it asks for a date, not a time. That action returns the selected date with the •current time• 😬, so the next step sets that timestamp to the start of the day. That’s what you need to match reminders with no time, which internally use the start of the day as their time 😎

  12. Tip #809

Create standalone Web Apps from websites on your iPhone and iPad.

Instead of installing numerous large apps from the App Store, you can create a lightweight home screen shortcut from any website with Vivaldi on iOS.

    To create a web app:

    1. Open the website in Vivaldi.
    2. Go to the Vivaldi menu > Share Page.
    3. From the menu select “Add to Home Screen”.
    4. Review and, if needed, update the web app’s name.
    5. Keep “Open as Web App” enabled.
    6. Tap “Add”.

An icon using the website’s favicon will be added to the Home Screen. When you tap it, it opens the site in its own window, just like a regular app. If you disable “Open as Web App” while creating the shortcut, the website will open in a new tab in the main Vivaldi window.

  14. #iOS #shortcut programming is hell.

It takes hours to find your way through this. And then again after leaving it alone for some weeks. Maintainability? None

Why don’t they just follow the scratch example?

    It’s no shortcut. It’s a detour.

  17. User owenpawling @ r/shortcuts' Discord is playing with #iOS 26.4 beta and they've found how to embed rich text in a #shortcut with Select from list. It turns out it also works in "Show results", AND IN IOS 26.3.1!

We can even have linked text and images!

  19. Liebe Web-Entwickelnde, bitte lasst meinen Lieblings-#Shortcut Ctrl+K in Ruhe!

Suchergebnis #Werbung!

  21. It’s sometimes *so* frustrating #English speakers cannot understand that a) one English word can acquire many distinct translations, or b) several differing English words can be translated with one and the same word.

Today’s pet peeve: “#shortcut”. In @Vivaldi, it stands not only for ’a special key combination’ but also ‘an icon on the speed dial tab’. In Finnish these require different translations; however, no hints are provided by the developers as to which one is meant. #localization #l10n

  23. @wiersdorf

I've been able to generalize the issue a bit: The “Combine Text” action doesn’t work with TWO lines if the joiner is “:”, the first line has JUST LETTERS, and the LENGTH of the second line is a multiple of 4 🤯 Demo #shortcut:

    icloud.com/shortcuts/343df0fe9

I suspect this is related to ":" being the original path delimiter in Mac OS X 🤔

And I assume you already know about the "Replace ' ' with ':' " workaround 😅

    P.S. Tested on #iPadOS 26.2.1

  27. I just made a cool shortcut in Apple’s shortcut app on iPad!

When tapped on the Home Screen on an iPad or iPhone or an Apple Watch, it will message two people immediately.
Then it gives a choice of calling an ambulance (911) or not.

There is an “are you sure” before actually calling 911.

If no ambulance is required it sends a message just telling the people help is needed.
If it does call the ambulance it texts the people that too.

…. I have been playing with Apple scripting since old MacOS days. love that it lives on and just gets more powerful with all the apps that we can tap into now.

So easy! And doing things that can truly improve, even save, lives. This is what computers should do.

  28. I can now send message over LoRA radio by talking to my phone. Apple doesn't want to support Bulgarian as dictation languages, so I made a , so when I speak to Siri in English it makes a get request to Google translate and returns the text in Bulgarian, then it sends it via Mestastic app to the network. Perfect workflow when driving and want to message the local network.

  30. Exciting hidden #ShortcutsApp actions are being found* this weekend!

For example, this #shortcut obtains the identifier of an action that you copy to the clipboard, which then can be used to detect if its app is installed in the device:

    icloud.com/shortcuts/7562e6c15

It includes the newly found “Search Shortcuts action for…” action so you can copy and paste it in YOUR #shortcuts 🙂

Credit to @gluebyte for the use of the identifier as a locale-independent search term

  32. P.P.S. The command syntax above is for Windows (that's the reason for the "^" before "(" and ")". Omit them if you want to run it in macOS (or Linux or UNIX)

BTW, #ImageMagick is available in the #ShortcutsApp via @nholzschuch's #aShell mini app
    apps.apple.com/app/id1543537943
so this can also be done in #iOS and #iPadOS using a #shortcut 🙂

  34. @hacksilon Hi. I’m curious: did you try using a “Repeat with each” action with your #shortcut input?

Also, just in case it’s related, “Calculate” uses the system decimal delimiter (comma in Spain and Germany) but “Calculate expression” only works with a decimal point.

And yeah, it’s frustrating to see the potential of the #ShortcutsApp ruined by so… many… bugs. 😥

  36. @gedeonm Try the #ShortcutsApp. At some window widths (like 50% of an iPad Pro 12.9”!) the editor hides the fracking button to run the #shortcut 🤬

  38. A #shortcut to pixelate specific areas of an image by painting over them using the Markup tool 🙂

    routinehub.co/shortcut/21783/

A few image operations needed for this shortcut aren't available in the #ShortcutsApp but, fortunately, I've been able to implement them in JavaScript and embed them inside the shortcut, so there are no external dependencies 😎

The shortcut includes several workarounds for Shortcuts and Safari bugs 😓
