The City of Ottawa is buying ads on YouTube to promote shopping local.
Yes, the city outline really is roughly heart-shaped.

Call it #MapleWashing, #MapleTurfing, #MapleLighting, whatever... This is an excellent example, the enshittification lengths a corporation will go to to steal your money.
Campbell's soup closed their last Canadian plant in 2018. Just recently, they decided to add a Maple Leaf, or a "Canadian" symbol to their labeling. As neither one is a protected symbol, there's nothing to stop them, no law, no regulation.
I mean yeah, if you're thinking of buying a can of soup, go ahead instead to the butchers, the deli, the produce section and buy stuff to make your own. It'll be at least 7 orders of magnitude better than any can on any shelf.
But for sure don't be duped by grifting scumbags who lie to your face to steal your money.
Tim Hortons isn't Canadian either.... Neither is Home Depot.... Neither is Walmart....
You must choose, but choose wisely.

🇨🇦 Tim Hortons, even though they market themselves heavily as Canadian is NOT Canadian owned. Restaurant Brands International owns Tim Horton's who's majority shareholder is 3G capital a Brazilian investment firm.
Maybe hitting up your locally owned coffee shop is a better choice.. #Canada #ShopCanada -
🇨🇦 They are a huge conglomerate but Canadian Tire and their brands are actually Canadian owned. Martha Gardiner-Billes a member of the founding family owns 61% of the voting stock and effectively controls the board of directors. I'm happy to live without kale.
Also, Ontario, especially in Windsor Essex, and in other South Ontario areas, grows a crap ton of produce.

I'm really enjoying this Canadian-made peach jam on my English muffin. From Hawberry Farms on Manitoulin Island. They also do amazing garlic paste and sauces. Peaches and garlic grown in in #Ontario. What made-in-#Canada products are you using?
