Irony apart, we can profit from sources of information, like libraries, zines and internet, or even over opinionated teachers and rope fellows, but imho practicing or finding out what works for us, and us only, without anybody directing your gaze or feelings, needs precedence.

TL/DR I wonder and mourn how many people gave up ropes or felt inadequate because of people telling them how they should do it and they not fitting to it.

Yes, there is irony in it (sp. If you like theory) but also a candid idea that if theory is helpful, experiment - specially in the first person - consolidates and is the actual starting point.

A possible translation for our over-stimulated times and rope context would be "many hours of joyful and curious practice and some introspection would save wasting an hour in the internet (or listening to any opinion maker/monger, in fact, not only in the internet)".
