  1. @thecommongreen #ScotWind has been one of the major scandals of the last decade, far worse than the #ferries which the media have made so much fuss about; but no one had been made to carry responsibility for it. This looks similar, if not on the same scale.

There is clear malfeasance here. Someone is not acting in the public interest, who should be doing so. Whether it's bankers or ministers, someone needs to be made to answer for it.

  2. @Wen The problem is that the #SNP is already prepared to do the bidding of rich interests from outwith Scotland, without even being paid for it. See oil, see the #ScotWind scandal, see the present rape of our electricity.

And they no longer even pretend to be doing anything about independence.

Who would vote for them? Why?

  3. @Wen It's kind of late for this. Our #SNP #ScotGov sold out a huge slice of Scotland's renewable resources in the #ScotWind scandal.

Yes, we need #ScottishIndependence -- but we need a pro-independence party that isn't utter shit, and the SNP isn't it. I'm hoping @ScottishGreens may be, but they're untested as yet.

  4. Additionally, the #SNP #ScotGov are raiding the dismal proceeds they did get from the failed #ScotWind auction for day-to-day spending.

It's hard to imagine how Scotland's most important strategic asset could have been worse handled.

You can all guess who I shall NOT be voting for at the next Holyrood election -- and it will be the first Holyrood election ever at which they will not get my constituency vote.

  5. The #ScotWind scandal just continues to get worse.

"Craig Dalzell [@thecommongreen], the head of policy and research at the respected Common Weal think tank, said: “I welcome the admission that the Scottish Government needs to review its governance model for Crown Estate Scotland, especially in light of the ongoing failure that was the ScotWind auction and the subsequent loss of the long term wealth fund that could have been secured by it.”

  6. CW: Scottish politics

The energy company, @peterbrown, would have solved all the problems caused by #ScotWind, which has cost every man, woman and child in Scotland something between £6,000 and £20,000.

If the leader was a figurehead, the ScotWind mistake (and the currency mistake) would not have been made.

"This either looks like massive scale corruption, or massive scale incompetence... One of the two" – Robin McAlpine

It's hard to disagree with him.

  8. CW: ScotPol; renewable energy

If I'm understanding @thecommongreen correctly here, #scotgov's mishandling of the #scotwind auction cost every man, woman and child in Scotland over £3,000.

    That's a lot of money.

    Comments, @lornaslater ?
