  1. For this week's #MusicWomenWednesday, something fairly brutal and excellent- Glasgow's UNMAKING and their debut EP 'Absolute Immiseration'. This is like, blackened sludge -- some VERY intense shit. Heavy as hell. Vocalist Kay Logan's voice is roaring and screeching.. I keep coming back to this one.

    The prompt is #Quiet

The Beta Band, “Quiet” from “Hot Shots II,” 2001

#TheBetaBand are from Scotland, purveying kind of clattery #psychedelic music with a #LoFi aesthetic, but when at its best, with some groove - which I think this track demonstrates nicely.

They disbanded in 2004 but I see now that they’ve just reunited for a tour, so hurry out and get those tickets, kids!

  3. This week's #MusicWomenWednesday is one I can't stop listening to these last few days. I usually like to wait until a record is out and I've heard all of it, but these three preview tracks are so damn good, I wanted to share.

Glasgow's CLOTH is twins Rachael & Paul Swinton and their songs are incredibly great. Minimal, melodies galore. A new find for me this year (they have another cool LP from 2023).

LP 'Pink Silence' is out fully in less than a month, on April 25.
