Dnes slaví 78. narozeniny legendární 🇩🇪 zpěvák a textař *Klaus Meine*.
Dlouholetý frontman hardrockové kapely *Scorpions* se narodil 25.5.1948 v Hannoveru. Ke kapele 🦂🦂 (založené v r. 1965 kytaristou Rudolfem Schenkerem) se Klaus přidal v r. 1969. Klaus a Rudolf společně s kytaristou Matthiasem Jabsem tvoří jádro kapely již několik dekád. Klaus a Rudolf jsou zároveň jediní dva členové kapely, kteří hrají ne všech jejich vydaných albech.
*Scorpions* se z lokální hannoverské formace vypracovali na globální hvězdy, které definovaly zvuk hard rocku a heavy metalu 80. let. Klaus se jako "dvorní textař" kapely podílel na tvorbě většiny zásadních alb, jako jsou *Blackout* (1982), *Love at First Sting* (1984) nebo *Crazy World* (1990).
Vrcholem jejich kariéry se stala balada *Wind of Change* (1990), kterou Klaus napsal jako symbol politických změn v tehdejším východním bloku. Píseň se stala celosvětovým hitem a hymnou konce studené války.
V r. 1981 Klaus Meine čelil vážným problémům s hlasivkami, které vyžadovaly operaci a hrozily dokonce koncem jeho kariéry; dokázal se však vrátit v ještě lepší formě, což je považováno za jeden z největších triumfů v dějinách rockové hudby.
*Scorpions* dosud vydali 19 studiových alb, vedle nich 6 živých alb, na 8 desítek singlů, desítky kompilací a přes 40 hudebních klipů. Odhad světových prodejů se pohybuje mezi 75 a 100 milióny nosičů.
Za svůj přínos hudbě získal Klaus Meine řadu ocenění, včetně uvedení do různých síní slávy a státních vyznamenání za zásluhy o německou kulturu. Však se Klausův jedinečný projev také stal úspěšným vývozním artiklem.
